The intercommunication of knowledge and experience between different fields of study is, I am sure, always beneficial, but not definitive.

When outsiders engage in an area, correlative research will turn wider and deeper. Take the example of medicine, which composed by various subjects, such as internal medicine, surgical medicine, neurology and so on. Chemists synthesize different kinds of new medicine, which biologist used to experiment on white rat to test the toxicity and effect. And with the help of the researchers, whose background knowledge are physics, radioactivity is used to find pathological changes, even for cancer treatment. So interposition of outsiders advances the level of medicine, and benefits our social members.

Meanwhile, a combination of different field of study could create new subject, the interdisciplines. When a biologist research on the chemical substances and vital processes occurring in living organisms, they need knowledge from a chemist, then biochemistry is founded; When chemists scientifically analyze the properties and behavior of chemical systems primarily by physical theory and technique as, for example, the thermodynamic analysis of macroscopic chemical phenomena, they turn to physical scientist for advice, physical chemistry is founded. So generally speaking, so the area of studies has become a cyber of knowledge, information and experience, and self-existent research is not the trend of these studies.

However, in some areas, such as mathematics, outside study may not play an indispensable part. The shadow of mathematics appears in the study of economics, computer science, physics, astronomy, mechanics, etc, nearly covers all science and engineering course which depend complicated operation and logical thinking. At the same time, the mathematician endeavor lonely, to conquer the alps of mathematic brainteaser. The progress made by them is the advancement of human civilization. Outsiders without integrated mathematic basic, besides spiritual (numinous, or psychological) support, what will they offer?

Taking the knowledge and experience of outsiders, specialist will take some risk in hand. They lack basic knowledge and experience with the study they have never met, as a result, no matter how constructive there suggestion is, practicability will be little. We will thank the god that no hazard and big mistake have been made, rather than any progress by outsiders.

In sum, the limitation and benefits of adopting the knowledge and experience is clear, and to reach advance significantly, we should draw a balance, clear observation and judgment that make it helpful to our progress.
