PhD positions in the Data Science Lab at McMaster University

The Data Science Lab at McMaster University is recruiting researchers for PhD positions to start in September 2022.
McMaster University is located in Hamilton, Ontario, less than an hour away from Toronto.  The Department of Computing and Software is located in the Faculty of Engineering, ranked one of Canada’s top engineering schools.

The Data Science Lab is looking for PhD students to undertake research in the areas of data quality, temporal graphs, profiling data steams, and machine learning.   
We are working on building scalable systems to address challenges in these areas.  We share close collaboration with the Faculty of Health Sciences to offer interdisciplinary research with clinicians.  The selected candidates will contribute to a research program that involves algorithm and model development and design, data preparation, and large-scale evaluation.  

The positions are funded for up to four years.  Candidates are expected to have a B.Sc and/or M.Sc in computer science or similar discipline with a strong foundation in databases, data systems, statistics, and machine learning.  Strong programming skills are required.  Application materials include CV, transcripts, statement of interest, including description of relevant experience and papers.
