想问下hku在读的phd可以转成mphil吗？如果是拿了hkpfs又是怎么样一个情况呢？楼主以及得到导师同意了，但是不知道学院研究生院会不会被卡

应该没问题的，博士本来都是有退出机制的，不会有人拦。具体方法估计要咨询相关部门的老师

既然老师同意了，应该不会有人拦着。即便有人拦着也是导师，因为貌似会损害老师的招生名额。

如果楼主是4年制的PhD的话，入学18个月内都是可以转的，具体可以参见这个文件：https://www4.hku.hk/pubunit/drcd/files/pgdr2016-17/All/PhD.pdf

“The Faculty, on the recommendation of the DRPC, shall decide whether the transfer
is approved. Upon successful transfer to MPhil candidature, the candidate shall
follow the set of Regulations and Procedures for MPhil candidates on his/her studies. ”

港大研院Current Student FAQ页面也有（https://gradsch.hku.hk/gradsch/faq/current-students#!），见“How Can I Transfer My Candidature”。

另外想问下楼主怎么和导师说的，会不会很尴尬....
