122"We owe almost all our knowledge not to people who have agreed, but to people who have disagreed."
122我们所掌握的知识差不多都是源于持不同意见者而非意见相同者。
Do we owe almost all our knowedgeknowledge to people who have disagreed rather than who have agreed? Due to distinct background, every on什么意思 may have different views, some one hold the view that disagreement restrain our mind, while others believe that they could learn more from opponents. Actually, in my opinion, we gain knowledge both not only form people who have agreed, but also from who have disagreed. Equipoise should be made between the two kinds of considerations. Neither should be ignored.
Undoubtedly, agreement could encourage us to learn more knowledge with full confidence, and it will create pleasant surroundings without any restrain and stress. As we know, agreement is beneficial forto teamwork, by which we can learn much from people who have agreed.
However, if we only learn from whose views are consistent with us, we are facing the danger that our mind will become narrower and more superficial. Without critical disagreement, some kind of self-confidence will become obstacle in our progress of learning. In addition, we will not notice the shortcomings that exist, when the small error or misunderstanding the truth taketakes root in our mind, all our previous efforts are wasted. So agreement only plays a partial part in our progress of learning.
In contrast, disagreement can make such a contribution for us to gain more knowledge. First of all, people who have different ideas provide new information that we ignored. Controversy over special issue makes us learn more aspect about one problem. Different opinion figure our the 去掉一个shortcoming of ourselves, undoubtedly, it will help us enrich our knowledge. Secondly, if we debate with specialist whose background is various from us, we may learn more rather than only correct our mistakes. If we make a combination of them, a perfect idea will form in our brain, even new theories or discoveries may be found. For instance, through a dispassionate dialogue an environmentalist will comprehend the economic concerns of those whose job depend on the continuous profitable operation of a factory. Conversely, the latter may understand potential public health price to be paid by the raise of production value.
Finally, we pursue to learn more knowledge rather than the progress of controversy. Meaningless controversy leads to stress and enmity, which will inhibit the progress of learning as well as cooperation. What's more, if someone of irrelated background debate about anything irrelated, the controversy between is just an abnormal quarrel to meet the satisfaction of the spectators and audience, such as talk show on TV or radio.
To sum up, disagreement and agreement are both important in the progress of learning that is hard to say to which we own more. Equipoise should be made between the two kinds of considerations, neither of which should be ignored.
怎么开头和结尾一样呢?而且好象有一个词语rather than 用的太多,可以作成别的句子,不一定就是一个句式啊。
