Multiple PhD student positions are available in Biomedical Engineering or Chemical engineering at the University of South Carolina, starting from the fall of 2022 or the spring of 2023. The positions will be provided with full financial support.
A student will work on either simulation or/and experimental work to develop biomaterials or bionanotechnologies. One with an interest and / or experience in simulations (quantum mechanics, coarse-grained, atomistic, Statistical Mechanics theory, CFD or numerical computation), machine learning, or/and experiments (bioengineering, electrochemistry or surface chemistry) is highly encouraged to apply. Either an undergraduate or graduate student can apply for the PhD position.
Required qualifications:
1. A candidate needs to have a good programming skill in one (or more) of the following: C/C++, Fortran and Python.
2. One with BS or MS degree in Engineering or Science is welcome to apply.
3. A candidate needs to have a good background in Mathematics.
4. TOFEL or IELTS is required for the application. GRE can be waived in the special time period of the pandemic.
