Rituals and ceremonies play a vital role in helping a culture. As well known, China has Spring Festival every year, and all of people will congratulate coming of New year. In Spring Festival, members of families gather together to enjoy and most of people will eat dumplings, which have long history. The same situations happen even in china town of other countries. So people can discern that it is Chinese Rituals. However Christmas, different from Spring Festival, is holiday of European countries and America. People congratulate this holiday at the end of every year and have another way of congratulation. Thus we can know this Christmas, another kind of holiday. As the matter, because of different ways and dates to congratulate rituals and ceremonies can help define a culture. On the other hand, in religious field we can easily find the difference from all kinds of rituals and ceremonies. Different religions have different gods and ways to pray, such as Buddhism and Christianity.

Additionally, rituals and ceremonies can help societies or groups of people have a sense of who they are. Because of globalization of economy, there exists the trend of difference among cultures diminishing. For example jean have become a common suit whatever in open countries and in traditional countries, or in developed countries and in developing countries. However, rituals and ceremonies play an important role to prevent this trend of keeping going. As well known, although many Chinese have been living abroad for long time, they spend time many Chinese traditional rituals every year, such as Spring Festival, traditional dance, dragon boat match. It becomes possible for abroad Chinese to seek the sense of who they are. And in civil Mongolia, the sport meeting including horse racing and wrestle holds every year in order to keep the custom of Mongolia. Through similar sport meetings, different races can find the sense of who they are.

Furthermore, without rituals and ceremonies societies have the possibility to lose cultural treasure. The progress of holding rituals and ceremonies include many rich knowledge and customs of different nations and countries, and ritual and ceremonies can contribute to keep cultural treasure. In addition, endangered languages abound in process of rituals and ceremonies, and these languages are keys to seek the corresponding history and civilization. Without ritual and ceremonies, these endangered languages have completely possibility to disappear. More importantly, the access to look for history and civilization are closed. It is a huge loss to human being.
