------题目------
The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds.
------正文------
Depending on our predecessors' constant endeavor of exploring new things and improving old conditions through disputing and researching, we can achieve such a high civilization. People today also inherit these merits and maintain to search for questions that deserve controversy and inquiry in order to unceasingly improve the society as well as human beings themselves. These questions are relevant to many aspects, such as education, technology and so on. Now a question such as whether human mind will always be superior to machines has already been put forwards and discussed by many people. As for me, a person who also desire to participate the discussion also have my own opinion. I think human mind is definitely superior to machines today, but it may not keep superior all the time.
People have the idea that their minds will always be superior to machines may be based on the fact that today nearly all the machines are made by human beings and operated by human beings, whether the most simple ones or the most complex ones. They are designed for the purpose of helping people resolving problems which may cost their much time, energy and even dangerous to them. They can be said the products of human minds and serve for humans. Furthermore, people not only design these machines but also provide all the conditions for these machines to run, such as electricity, energy and so on. It is not exaggerated to say without human beings these machines are only some waste steels which can not do anything useful.
On the other hand, there are also several characters owned by human minds, but absent of machines that give human beings' confidence to say their minds will always be superior to machines. These characters are creativity and emotion. As we know, even the most complex machines, such as computers and robots, can only do things in accordance to the programs designed by people. They only know obey orders but can not make only a little change of those orders by thinking and analyzing. However, human has creativity, and just this character inspires them to design these machines to free themselves from heavy physical tasks, and bore brain task, such as calculating. Moreover, machines do not have emotions. They have no love and no hate. They can not choose what to do or what not to do. In other word, they do not have self. This is totally different from our human beings, who have strong emotions, and these emotions may motivate us to achieve higher mental world, even inspire creativity.
However with the rapid development of science and technology, probably machines will also own these characters, and then it is difficulty to say which one is superior to the other. Recent advances in biotechnology particularly in human beings genomes research suggest that within a not long time, machines may have the ability to learn by themselves, think by themselves and even repair themselves. This trends show us the crisis that one day when machines totally own the ability of creativity and emotion, they will development themselves the same as our human beings do hundreds of thousands years, and it is difficult to determine which one may develop superior. Maybe one day our minds may inferior to them, because in addition to the characters once only attributed to our human beings, they also own the ability to rapidly accomplish heavy physics work and calculating much quickly, and their development of minds may also exceed us too.
In conclusion, though different people may have different opinions, I will adhere to my position. With the development of science and technology, it is too absolute to say human mind will always be superior to machines. Though actual fact is that machines are all designed and operated by humans and have no creativity and emotion, they may suddenly awake and exceed our human beings. |
