A good tool.[不如改为A useful/helpful tool.]Issue153. Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively.
------------------正文-----------------------
In a long time, students are in a habit of accepting what they are taught without skepticisms. This habit has a harmful effect on real studies. In my opinion, students should be ready to doubt, to challenge established authority, but not over-suspicion.
Skepticism, or critical thinking, helps us uncover bias and prejudice and distinguish between opinion and fact. As we know, most people in our era are used to believe what scientists said and what we are taught from school. But why [do] they believe that? I think it is because most things taught by teachers and introduced by scientists [are indeed right这有语法问题,去一个] are proved in many conditions. For example, few people will doubt our earth is a sphere due to our scientific knowledge. Therefore, for some knowledge which are [is] generally proved right, we should not waste our time on suspecting, unless ones do happen to find something wrong or some flaws in a certain theory. On the other side, when we confront some new theory or some issues, which are not generally substantiated, we have [every去掉] reason to suspect its truth, especially those conclusions without enough scientific evidence but are to a large extent accepted by average individuals. For instance, during 16th century in Europe, hardly any people believe heliocentric ordering of the planets. However, Copernicus Nicolas stuck to being suspicious of the geocentric theory and disrupted the Ptolemaic system of astronomy in the end. If Copenicus[这小哥的名字是Copernicus] give up his suspicion and believe the misleading geocentric theory as many more people in his times did, the presence of heliocentric theory would be delayed for many years. Accordingly, a scientific and skeptical attitude is really needed in studies.
[就逻辑方面问题来说,我觉得你的TS句和下面论述有些脱节,偶想问以下你是怎么证明Skepticism 起到了distinguish between opinion and fact的作用?]
Real understanding comes from thorough investigation. [我觉的应该点明的是Skepticism的作用,因为有了skepticism 才会去investigation重点在critical thinking] In our observations and studies, it is very possible for us to neglect another side of what we watch. For example, in one of my philosophy classes, my teacher got out a big sphere. Before that, all of us had been divided into two groups (one group sat at the right left side, the other right), and then everyone in the class could merely see half side of the sphere. The left side saw a red sphere, but the right side saw a blue sphere, as a result they fell in dispute. After the teacher turn over it, all of us know we are wrong. This story suggests that before we do a thorough investigation, the conclusion we now reach may probably be wrong. [好象这段扯远了]
[When students actively participate in the learning process, they may learn more efficiently and more effectively. 这句做TS句让人觉的跑题了.我明白了你是在说是主动的而不是被动的,偶觉得保险起见还是放在本题的terminology—skepticism and question上。 ]As we know, people's interests [又谈兴趣了?]often generated from their initiative. If students take the initiative in participating in the learning process, they may know deeply what they are taught and investigate more background information about their major, which is terrifically helpful for their studies. [However, we have to suggest students to avoid over--doubt what they taught, because over-suspicion even of every word teachers said would make them fall into a mess in which they cannot study anything.][关于这点的论述较若,偶觉的你大可再来一段论述,因为你在开头提到了]
All in all, in today's education, it should be encouraged to bring certain skepticism to whatever they study, which is helpful to stimulate students' interest in their studies. However, they are also necessarily advised to keep a proper position or balance between acceptance and skepticism.[结尾keep a proper position or balance 作的不错啊]
[总的感觉写的语言句式上还可以,在逻辑论证上偶和你想法不同。]

[综上看来偶认为该文>4 score] |
