There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws.

Are laws divided into two types, just and unjust? If so, should every individual in a society obey just laws and disobey unjust laws? I totally agree with this issue. Unjust laws always exist and the resist to them is motivation to the social development.

We all know that there are just laws in society. But not all of us can understand why unjust laws cannot be totally effaced from our life. This is because that situation changes every minute. Laws that are just in one historic period may be unjust years later. Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd American president, once said, " No society can make a perpetual institution, or even a perpetural laws." And also, Franklin Roosevelt claims, "Eternal truths are neither true nor eternal unless they have fresh meanings for every new situation." From words from the two presidents, we can see that laws that are always just never exist.

Since there are always unjust laws, what should we do with them? I think, it is the responsibility for us to disobey and resist unjust laws. My opinion is based on this reason: Resist to the laws we think unjust can make us know clearly which laws are just and which ones are unjust.

Why can disobeying and resisting unjust laws make us judge laws are just or unjust? I will give the reason:  We cannot know exactly other people's notions to something except by their own expressions and actions. If we conceal our dissatisfactions to unjust laws, others will be not likely to know that dissatisfaction. Under this circumstance, people will always think that unjust laws are reasonable because they can make most of people content, thus unjust laws cannot be found out by us. In ancient China, when emperors are considered as god, although there are many unjust laws in the society, people don’t have courage to resist them. The situation continues for thousands of years, making some unjust laws such as women discrimination last, resulting in obstacle the development of society.

To sum up, unjust laws always exist because of the change of social situation. We have to disobey and resist unjust laws to help distinguish just laws and unjust laws. In this way, we can make laws be more just and make our society more developed.
