If one wants to do research on a kind of culture, he can study rituals and ceremonies, to some extent both of which can represent the whole culture.
First of all, the forming of a culture experiences a long time and each one has its own characteristics, including rituals and ceremonies. As we know, due to various environment and personal characters, more often than not people living in different areas gradually formed their respective customs, rituals as well as ceremonies. For example, in west countries, many people believed that it is god who initiated the world and dominated the whole world. What is more, many people believe in the Christinism. Every Sunday morning, most of them go to church, when they marry, weddings are presided by the priest and they are held in the church. However, in east countries, conditions are totally different. Just take holding weddings for example, traditional ones there are held in bridegroom’s house where relatives and friends go to bless the new pairs. Although such weddings are also presided by others who is not necessarily believe in one kind of religions. Furthermore, just looking the color of clothes of bridge you can easily judge which kind of culture she belong to, since in west people usually wear in white which they think represent purist, while in east people usually wear in red which is regarded as propitious. Therefore, it is not hard to recognize a culture through observing their rituals or ceremonies.(这段写得不错, 分析论证的比较充分, 我也举了相同的例子)
Secondly, if a society losses its rituals and ceremonies, they will find there is no space for them to survive. (这句话说的太大了, 有点夸张啊!)This thing is possibly happen when a nation recognizes that they have been left behind by others. In order to catch up with others, they may do some radical things such as doubting their traditions hindered their development and hastily hoping to give up all his rituals and ceremonies as well as learning those of others. In fact, merits of others need to be learned, but personal characters should not be abandoned. Considering rituals and ceremonies have a very long history, one the one hand,, abandoning them is a large waste, on the other hand, this nation can only learn superficiality of those of others in a period. In this sense, although we indeed absorb others’ merits, it is not worthwhile to give up one’s own rituals and ceremonies to imitate others.
Last but not least, it is not deniable that there is a trend that in the mind of juvenile traditional rituals and ceremonies is not as important as that of their predecessors. For example, in China more and more younger wear in white and hold weddings in the church. On the contrary, some people from the west countries come to China and hold their weddings in Chinese ceremony there. In addition, spring festival was the most festival in China in history, but now many younger prefer to enjoy the Christmas, which is one of the most festivals in the west. This phenomenon may was caused by frequently communication living in different areas. In the future, when science and technology develop more advanced, information communication will become much easier. It is not hard to imagine that one day the world becomes a whole and two culture cannot be differentiated. (联系一下the diminished sense of who they are, 好象没说太清)
All in all, nowadays rituals and ceremonies still represent a culture, and people in one society should not desert theirs in order to imitate others, which may prove counterproductive.(conterproductive, 好象有点没论证清楚,虽然你的第三段说了一下, 但你没有很明确的举例子, 有点象是自己的推论臆测, 不太有科学性)
我也写了和你同样的题目链接如下, 帮忙拍砖啊, 谢谢啦!
