Is the beginner more likely than the expert in any field of inquiry to make
important discoveries? The speaker believes so. As far as I am concerned, I
fundamentally agree with the speaker's assertion for the following reasons.

On the one hand, the most significant difference between the beginner and the
expert is attitude towards everything. That is to say, the beginner often
bring an attitude of skepticism to all that they learn and discover while it
is naturally that the expert seem more conservative. When it comes to a new
discovery or a breakthrough, what the expert consider to do next is try to
find an appropriate standpoint based on the old theory to explain all these
no matter how novel the discover is and how unreasonable the explain seems to
be. But things turn to the opposite side when we referred to the beginner.
They probably attempt to consider the connection between new phenomena and
the old theory and thus to find out the inner causation and sometimes, if
necessary, to draw a new theory that rationally unpuzzle not only the new
discovery but also the old theory. Moveover, the expert suffer more
attentions and disputations than the beginner because of their repute in the
academe, which, ultimately serve as disturbance in the process of research.
However, the beginner fortunately attract less attention in order that they
can devoted all their hearts to their experiments.

On the other hand, the beginner possess a curious and aspirant attitude
towards the unknown fields which beneficial them a lot since the more curious
they are about the unknown, the closer they are from the truth. Curiosity is
the nature of human beings and when we referred to history, it is obvious
that curiosity is indeed a powerful impetus for human to discover the inner
regulations beneath the seeming complex world. In another word, curiosity is
another important factor that finally result to more possibility for the
beginner to make important discoveries.

Admittedly, skepticism and curiosity do not equal to success. Without proper
related knowledge and necessary experience in the field to assist with, there
would be not a even tiny opportunity for the people to make important
discoveries in the field of queries.

To sum up, rich knowledge and abundance of experience is the base of success
and what is more significant, is the curiosity and skepticism attitude toward
everything, all of which are the inherent reasons why the beginner would be
more likely to make important discoveries

fundamentally agree with the speaker's assertion for the following reasons.(跟楼上在楼上的那位不同, 我认为问题开头并不好, 因为什么人对什么题目都可以这样做, 没什么意义)

On the one hand, the most significant difference between the beginner and the
expert is (the) attitude towards everything(用everything怪怪的). That is to say, the beginner often
bring an attitude of skepticism to all that they learn and discover while it
is naturally(natural) that the expert seem(seems) more conservative. When it comes to a new
discovery or a breakthrough, what the expert consider to do next is try to
find an appropriate standpoint based on the old theory to explain all these
no matter how novel the discover is and how unreasonable the explain(explanation) seems to
be. But things turn to the opposite side when we referred(原形) to the beginner.
They(上面用单数, 这里也应该是吧) probably attempt to consider the connection(复数) between new phenomena and
the old theory and thus to find out the inner causation and sometimes, if
necessary, to draw a new theory that rationally unpuzzle not only the new
discovery but also the old theory. Moveover, the expert suffer(suffers) more
attentions and disputations than the beginner because of their repute(reputation) in the
academe, which, ultimately serve as disturbance in the process of research.
However, the beginner fortunately attract(单数) less attention in order that they
can devoted(原形) all their hearts(efforts要好一下吧) to their experiments.

On the other hand, the beginner possess(单数) a curious and aspirant attitude
towards the unknown fields which beneficial(benefit) them a lot since the more curious
they are about the unknown, the closer they are from the truth. Curiosity is
the nature of human beings and when we referred(怎么老用过去式呢?) to history, it is obvious
that curiosity is indeed a powerful impetus for human(复数) to discover the inner
regulations beneath the seeming(副词) complex world. In another word, curiosity is
another important factor that finally result(results) to(in) more possibility for the
beginner to make important discoveries.

The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries.
------正文------
Can the greatness of individuals be recognized only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries? In my point of view, this claim is justifiable for the following reasons.

One of the reasons is that society is going ahead with the time flowing. In one hand, with knowledge accumulated, people understand and comprehend matters more intensively or lucidly, consequently, the progeniture could qualify to evaluate the greatness in more extent. In the other hand, more and more problems of the predecessor could be found by the offspring, as a result, so-called “greatness” could be clarified by posterity. For example, the principle of relativity, establish by Einstein, replace the concept of absolute frame of reference put forward by Newton in the physics. As a result of the human going ahead, the ken of people is broadened and more verities could be attained. By this token, people live subsequently might see the greatness more clearly.

Second, contemporaries’ reflection always confined in an invisible circle by the prevailing notion. People usually accustom to accept rather than doubt even refute. At the same time, the giant always hold advanced even “incredible” views in the eyes of contemporary ordinary people. Consequently, the giant were always looked down upon by the contemporaries. For example, Vincent Van Gogh, the representative of terminal impressionist, disregard the academic doctrine and spurn the acquired knowledge, did not accept by his contemporaries, however, approved to be a great artist after his death. Holding the fixed idea that writing or painting should be in reality, contemporaries did not admit Van Gogh. In a word, the progeny’s estimation could avoid these limitations.

In addition, time is always the criterion to verify the truth and greatness. The blemish of some inventions cannot be discovered by contemporaries in short time. It is indispensable to take a long time to verify the truth or greatness. Consider, for example, the insecticide 666, during its prophase, which is of full of merits in the eyes of contemporaries, in the end, it proved to threat the healthy of people. Actually, a multiply kinds of inventions have flaws which might hardly be demonstrated at the beginning of applying to market. However, with the time lapsing, more and more problems could appear due to take into effect in a large compass. By this token, progeniture have connatural advantages compared with the contemporaries.

Admittedly, the greatness of the individuals can be recognized by the people live after them for the above reasons. However, I also hope that contemporaries could try their best to see the issue more clearly and admit the true greatness early.

Recently, more attention has been paid on a discussion whether the beginner is more likely than the expert to make important discoveries. Many people give different answers due to their various experiences. As for me, I will refute the idea stated in the title.

To begin with, important discoveries will never be achieved by some people unless they have embraced specialized knowledge. Unlike the daily life, the important discoveries are usually based on complicated and advanced researches. And the experts have abilities to deal with these researches, but the beginner cannot. A good case in point is that Newton had discovered and established the law of gravity owing to an apple striking his head. In fact, untold people have ever been hit by apples when they go near the apple trees, but why other people cannot find the law. A carefullycareful thinking tells us that because the most people and beginners do not have sophisticated experiences on the physics and math, even though the accident that an apply fall on one's head occurs one hundred times, he doesn't would never discover the law for ever. Therefore, a great deal of knowledge and experience should be required to ensure the important discoveries and the least aspects of the beginners usually are knowledge and experience.
最后一句其实可以这样说,a great deal of knowledge and necessary experience is the requisite of important discoveries and from another perspective, what the beginners lack the most is just adequate knowledge and experience. 可能感觉好些。

Next似乎这种说法不太正式,moreover, further什么的要好些, the contribution that the beginner gives to important discoveries is only the questions and thoughts resulting from his imagines and defects of knowledge. Because of the curiouscuriosity and interest, many beginners provide some strange and even ridiculous thoughts, but which usually the resource of important discoverywhich, ironically, are usually the resource …. Meanwhile, it usually leads people to an assumption that the beginner is more likely than the expert to make important discoveries. Actually, these thoughts beginners offer serve only as advices. Whether these advices conduce to a new discovery, how to explore the possible new discovery and what importance of the discovery would bring on are mainly depended on the experts. For instance, many beginners guess that the Mar has ever covered by water, which actuate the human to send probesto the planet, but few people can deduce in a rational way and draw a conclusion from viewing the photos sent by the Mar probe. So, ultimately, the possibility that the Mar has water is assured by the NASA experts rather than a beginner.
这段是说看起来虽然新手能提出许多奇异的想法,对科学发现有一定的推动作用,但是真正需要的还是experts来努力。感觉和第二段的论点有些重叠。而且段末的例子似乎不太恰当。

Furthermore, without the experts, these imagines and questions, which comes from the beginner, cannot be carried out and solved. Except the knowledge and experience, an important discovery needs plenty of fund and equipments, actually the majority of beginners have no such conditions. With the doubt of the beginner's ability, nearly all companies are reluctant to invest these beginners. As a result, these thoughts the beginner offers have no chance to succeed unless an expert encounter him. Combining the experiences and these thoughts, the expert will provide the experiment conditions and orient the research so that the possibility of accomplishing an important discovery increases largely.

To sum up, because the beginner usually has nothing except the diverse thoughts, he cannot contribute much to an important discovery, at the same time, thanks to having plenty of,就不要have了knowledge, experience, fund and equipment, the expert act a key role to turn these thoughts to important discoveries. So, from what has been discussiondiscussed above, we can draw the conclusion that the expert is more likely than the beginner to make important discoveries.
