Practicality is now our great idol, which all powers and talents must serve. Anything that is not obviously practical has little value in today's world.

Nowadays, people more and more like doing practical things, and even putting practicality on the first place, when they commit one mission. Although such behaviors indeed bring many benefits for us, we cannot give up things that are impractical.

To begin with, in our normal life most people regard practicality as their most important goals is necessary. As we know, if a merchant cannot make profit by applying one means, he is not likely to go on what he has done and may choose other means. The same way as normal life of the public people. Everyone wants to live a better life and when facing with many choices to do things, undoubtedly he will choose the most efficient way.  It can be given by many examples in our lives. A good case in point is that when students go to colleges or universities, more often than not they will choose the most practical major that can make a lot of money after their graduation such as MBA and doctors as well as lawyers. On the contrary, when it comes to natural science, few people want to make it as their overruling choice. Only when they fill they cannot enter into those hottest majors, will they choose it.

Secondly, in fact when governments make plans, they usually consider their practicality firstly. If there are two plans: one is about allocating some money on construction of a new big national park in order to appeal more tourists coming there, the other is building new public schools. Since if the former one are accomplished, the whole state or city can receive more money in a short time, while the latter one can bring benefit after at least several decades when students are brought up there, in many cases the relevant government will allocate money to the former plan especially when they are in short of money. Because government concern about rapid development of their citizens, it is not strange they will make such a choice.

However, although practicality is important, impractical things should not be neglected. For one thing, something may looks impractical at first glance, but after careful consideration you may find that in fact they are worthwhile. Take my research, which is computing chemistry for example. It is true that it study pure physical chemistry theory and analyze conditions that cannot come true by doing experiments, but it can provide guide for experiments and then apply them to practical lives. For another, there are also things that are impractical in a short time, but in the long run, it is very useful. Both solving pollution and keeping balance of our ecology system can be listed in this sort of things. Therefore, some impractical things should also be considered.

In conclusion, when people take practicality as their great goals, which indeed is important, they should neglect those impractical things at the same time.

这是我第一篇限时issue 写得不好当时就感觉到了
其实我的观点是追求practicality is necessary 但是与此同时不能忽视不实际的东西，可能第一段陈述观点的时候表达的不明确吧 and 和as well as 连用是在准备托福考试时才学会的这一点应该是没错的，我原来也不这样用,你没看懂的那句我觉得用的也不好在该该吧
