The following appeared in a memorandum written by the vice president of Nature's Way, a chain of stores selling health food and other health-related products.
'Previous experience has shown that our stores are most profitable in areas where residents are highly concerned with leading healthy lives. We should therefore build our next new store in Plainsville, which has many such residents. Plainsville merchants report that sales of running shoes and exercise clothing are at all-time highs. The local health club, which nearly closed five years ago due to lack of business, has more members than ever, and the weight training and aerobics classes are always full. We can even anticipate a new generation of customers: Plainsville's schoolchildren are required to participate in a 'fitness for life' program, which emphasizes the benefits of regular exercise at an early age.'

The author's suggestion of building the next new store in Plainsville seems plausible as supported by some newly emerged circumstances in that area which gives evidences showing people in the area are concerned more with leading healthy lives and accordingly, the new store of Nature's Way will make a big profit there. However, there is no premise provided for the correlation of those circumstances with the conclusion.

First of all, the report of highest sales of running shoes and exercise clothes doesn't necessarily mean that this is resulted form a bursting passion on living a healthy life.We can have a guess.Maybe a famous brand was brought there and became really popular among the youths.Or maybe the merchants took some effective measures such as a big sale or something else to improve the management.Such possibilities can also be contributed to my suspition with the following reasoning supported by the fact that the local health club has more members than ever.It is highly possible that poor management before is replaced and consequently such a result came out.

Secondly,the new generation is still in unknown potential because they are required to take part in the "fitness for life" program instead of their own willings.The program may reveal an awareness among the organizers,however,as regard to a more broader crowd,this conclusion is in my doubt.

In sum,the author does provide us with some seemingly persuasive evidences, however, to make a more substantial claim, the author had better give out more convincing reasonings.
