------题目------
When we concern ourselves with the study of history, we become storytellers. Because we can never know the past directly but must construct it by interpreting evidence, exploring history is more of a creative enterprise than it is an objective pursuit. All historians are storytellers.

------正文------
Are all historians are really storytellers as the speaker asserts since exploring history is more of a creative enterprise than it is an objective pursuit? As far as I am concerned, I agree that in the history exploring, it is necessary to take some creative thinking in this enterprise. But to say all historians are storytellers is to some extent too arbitrary since critical thinking are needed in the exploring.

To begin with, since it is impossible for historians to experience those significant historical events, what they can do is to hypothesis the history on the basis of precious evidence such as relic, historical record and so forth. Nonetheless, most of the time evidences that could be provided are so limited that it is necessary and imperative for historians to take some creative thinking in the process instead of just reasoning. To support this, one needs to look no further than the history of Qin Dynasty, one of the most important dynasties throughout the history in China. Unfortunately, what is left to historians is some pottery statues, few historical data and ballad since the dictator of Qin dynasty has burned almost all the books including those precious historical records in order to maintain his reign. Accordingly, creative thinking is involved in the enterprise to make rational hypothesis based on objective evidence. In other words, in order to make reasonable explanations on historical evidence, historians have to make some surmises.

Furthermore, critical thinking is a precious and indispensable character of the historians. As we know, not all the historical records are credible due to various reasons. On the one hand, it may because that the governor has those records revised so as to meet his own interest such as solidifying his reign. On the other hand, maybe people have amended the record in order to make some historical events more mysterious and romantic. Therefore, historians have to use critical thinking to tell what is true in the process of exploring history for the sake of historical authenticity.

What is more, historians are far from storytellers although both involve creative work. What storytellers do is to make stories live and vivid in order to attract people’s attention regardless of their authenticity while historians' work is to make logical analysis and hypothesis based on reasoning and what is more, critical thinking, so as to provide a true history to people. Put it more simply, it is the attitude of pursuing truth that differentiate historians from storytellers.

To sum up, since it is almost impossible to get enough historical evidence to reason out history, critical and creative thinking is needed to make rational hypothesis and historians are not just storytellers.

Are all historians are really storytellers as the speaker asserts since exploring history is more of a creative enterprise than it is an objective pursuit? As far as I am concerned, I agree that in the history exploring, it is necessary to take some creative thinking in this enterprise. But to say all historians are storytellers is to some extent too arbitrary since (2个SINCE in one paragraph,下一段开头又是since用BECAUSE?) critical thinking are (is?) needed in the exploring.

To begin with, since it is impossible for historians to experience those significant historical events, what they can do is to hypothesis (It is a n., hypothesize?) the history on the basis of precious evidence such as relic, historical record and so forth. Nonetheless, most of the time evidences that (which? 后面还有一个that) could be provided are so limited that it is necessary and imperative for historians to take some creative thinking in the process instead of just reasoning. To support this, one needs to look no further than the history of Qin Dynasty, one of the most important dynasties throughout the history in China(中国历史是history in China 还是history of China?). Unfortunately, what is left to historians is some pottery statues, few historical data and ballad since the dictator of Qin(that?) dynasty has burned almost all the books including those precious historical records in order to maintain his reign.

Put it more simply, it is the attitude of pursuing truth that differentiate (+s) historians from storytellers.

To sum up, since it is almost impossible to get enough historical evidence to reason out history, critical and creative thinking is needed to make rational hypothesis and historians are not just storytellers.

D TO SUM UP……

Accordingly, creative thinking is involved in the enterprise to make rational hypothesis based on objective evidence. In other words, in order to make reasonable explanations on historical evidence, historians have to make some hypothetic surmises with their imagination.

Furthermore此处应该转折了吧,而不是递进, critical thinking is a precious and indispensable character of the historians. As we know, not all the historical records are credible due to various reasons. On the one hand, it may because that the governor has those records revised so as to meet his own interest such as solidifying his reign. On the other hand, maybe people have amended the record in order to make some historical events more mysterious and romantic. To sum up, since it is almost impossible to get enough historical evidence to reason out history, critical and creative thinking is needed to make rational hypothesis and historians are not just storytellers.
