Issue 87

Issue 87
"In any field of inquiry, the beginner is more likely than the expert to make important discoveries."

Nowadays, with the rapid social and technological development, there is a growing concern over how to treat the beginners and experts. Some people think that beginner, who is much younger and therefore has more courage, has a greater chance than the expert to make important discoveries. But in my opinion, the advantages of experts can not be ignored and they are more likely to success.

In the first place, the most important reason I convince experts is that experts have more basic knowledge and experiences than beginners, which is necessary for research. It is inevitable that people can meet a great number of problems while doing a research. Thus knowledge which is learned through many years' working is necessary to solve them. It is also true that experts can master lots of technologies better than beginners. For example, it is well known that a student who comes into the laboratory for the first time need to be taught to use the complicated equipments there for no one can expect them to have any idea of that. As a result, how can you expect the person who can not master the technology which is necessary in the process of researching to make any important discoveries?

In addition, experts already have made some discoveries and they are famous in their own field. Therefore, people are more convinced of their plan and are more likely to assign them much money, which is important for the research. When they have already made some discoveries, people also pay more attention to them, while that of some scientists who few people know may be ignored for many years although they are found to be of great importance later. It is like the competition of dancing, a young girl who firstly take part in this competition may fail although her dances well than the famous dancer because the latter can give people a good impression since everyone know that her technology is perfect which can influence her final grades greatly.

However, on the other hand, beginners also have their own advantages. As I described in the first paragraph, the knowledge experts master can also be an obstacle to them for it makes them to think too much things and thus lose courage, which the beginners have. For example, when Einstein published his paper announcing that light has both the characteristic of particle and fluctuation, a young man named de Broglie, who is a student of history, stated an assumption that electrons and other kind of concreted things may also have this characteristic, which the experts of physics can not even imagine. This assumption is proved right in several years and de Broglie gained his Nobel Price. This example perfectly illustrate that beginners sometimes have better imagination and courage than experts and that can help them succeed. However, this advantage of beginners can not carry more weight than its defects when both of them are carefully compared.

To sum up, although beginners have the courage to imagine something that the experts think is definitely impossible, they still lack basic knowledge and experience to gain success. We should pay more attention to them and give them more chances, but we can not conclude that it is less likely for experts to make important discovery.

Nowadays, with the rapid social and technological development, [范文你也敢...] there is a growing concern over how to treat the beginners and experts. Some people think that beginner, who is much younger and therefore has more courage, has a greater chance than the expert to make important discoveries. But in my opinion, the advantages of experts can not be ignored and they are more likely to success.

In the first place, the most important reason I convince [convince experts?] experts is that experts [用代词~] have more basic knowledge and experiences than beginners, which is necessary for research. It is inevitable that people can meet a great number of problems while doing a research. Thus knowledge which is learned through many years' working is necessary to solve them. 不明白] It is also true that experts can master lots of technologies better than beginners.

When they have already made some discoveries, people also pay more attention to them, while that of some [表达有问题] scientists who few [who few连用容易引起误会,用被动!] people know may be ignored for many years although they are found to be of great importance later. [句子有点乱,不如写成两句] It is like [这样类比开头不好] the competition of dancing, [面试audition好像是这个词吧] a young girl who firstly take part in this competition may fail although her dances well than the famous dancer because the latter can give people a good impression since everyone know that her technology is perfect which can influence her final grades greatly.

However, on the other hand, beginners also have their own advantages As I described in the first paragraph, [这句能省就省] the knowledge experts master can also be an obstacle to them for it makes them to think too much things and thus lose courage, which the beginners have. This example perfectly illustrate that beginners [broglie是beginner么?她不过是比老爱年轻一点而已~年轻专家不等于beginner!] sometimes have better imagination and courage than experts and that can help them succeed. However, this advantage of beginners can not carry more weight than its defects when both of them are carefully compared.

To sum up, although beginners have the courage to imagine something that the experts think is definitely impossible, they still lack basic knowledge and experience to gain success. We should pay more attention 了] to them and give them more chances, but we can not conclude that it is less likely for experts to make important discovery.
