------题目------
All students should be required to take courses in the sciences, even if they have no interest in science.
------正文------
In the modern society with the development in science at rapid speed, it seems impossible for anyone to separate himself/herself to the influence of science. Therefore I agree with the speaker that all students, including [them][those好些吧?] studying in arts and literature, should take courses in science no matter how they dislike them or how irrelevant to science their subjects seem to be.[开头直接入题,表明观点,觉得不错.]
Science, as the objective statements to both the natural and social conditions, illustrates the truth of this world without prejudice. It correlates to our daily life in almost any aspects. Thus studying science can contribute a lot in further understanding the world and the fields someone studies in both in indirect and direct ways.
First of all, studying the science equip people basic knowledge towards the nature and society-- which are necessary for people to survive on this knowledge-bombing earth. For example, people have to calculate the profits and cost when purchasing, then mathematics should be used; also they have to take basic physical and geographical principles into consideration when they trapped in a house on fire or even [whey][when] they make efforts in parking their car in a narrow space. These are "minor" things in daily life that seem to be far from the boring scientific statistics and principles. However, without the help of this basic knowledge, there is nothing we can do but turn to others when we are in troubles. From this point of view, science learning is so important that directly helps people lead normal life no matter what the careers they are.[生活中的小事体现出学习科学的重要性,和我的想法不谋而和,赞!语言还是那么流畅,例子恰当,说理明确不知道我哪天能赶上你,估计这辈子是不成了~^_^]
In addition, for artists and other people whose work seems irrelevant to science, the proper understanding and utilization of science gives an opportunity for them to attain profound understanding in their jobs and generate breakthrough in this field. For supporting example one needs to look no further than the famous painting "Impressionism, the Sunrise" by Monet. It is the involvement of basic scenography in physics and the investigation in neurology that the wonderful visional effect and shocking was realized. The traditional painting skills were challenged by the new factors involving into the process. Another example is the generation of the famous novel "The Great Expectations". The vivid description upon the psychological movements and the social environment actually owes to the Dickenson's examination upon the psychology and related science concerned on society and population. [perfect!例子恰当,说理好,赞啊赞!]
However, the demand on taking science course doesn't imply all students should take the same causes and to the same extent. As we know, the purpose of schools is not to cultivate all students to scientists. Thus there should be different demands for different students. Those who are not interested in science and those who are in major of arts cannot be treated the same as those who aim at working in laboratory and becoming professors. It is ridiculous for a students majoring in literature to study the mathematics as someone from Computer Science, or to remember all the names of the organ of body as someone from medical science, or to accept the Relativity Theory as someone from physics. The students should be guided to choose the science subjects related with the fields they study in, such as the ones from literature to pick up social science, the ones from music to participate in acoustics, and the ones from psychology[上面刚刚在例子里面说Dickenson's "The Great Expectations"是归功于作家研究心理学,这里怎么又说心理学的学生不属于科学的范畴了呢?对他们可是不公平的呀^_^] to learn something about chemistry and biology. By doing so, the students could find what are most suitable to them and assist learning and using the skills in the further study in their own major.
To sum up, the demands of studying on science are obvious from the above analysis, both for the survival of an individual in modern society and a method for students to investigate and understand their own major from another aspect and to deeper extent. Nevertheless, I take the conservation about the wide-spreading science courses without no guidance and suggestion. For the students majoring in arts and literature, as far as I am [concerns][concerned], advice should be given when they are choosing what they should take.
