然后系里面会问what's the problem between you and your supervisor?这个时候你就要发挥演戏功力了。在找这个之前建议你去校医院心理诊所开一个mental health的证明。但是一般系里面都会比较向着学生(管教育的会比较向着学生,然后系里gpd(graduate program direct)可能会比较向着导师(我们系gpd是个印度人,这人十分印度,比较爱和稀泥),然后你一定要咬定你们关系无法修复,必要时候就拿出mental health的证明去告诉他如果你在和稀泥我不确定会发生什么(不要威胁他,可以旁敲侧击的提起什么北卡枪击案啊,什么美国校园枪击啊,什么跳楼啊之类的))。
然后就是面试了,一般来说面试必问的问题:
1. What's wrong between you and your supervisor?
2. Can you give me the contact email/number/address for him? (optional,有的想确定什么问题会去问)
3. Are you ended the relationship with your supervisor?
4. Can you tell me about your best project, what is that?+parameter questions(会问一些关键性问题,比如参数啊,原理啊,怎么得到的数据).
5. Funding? Will you support yourself, or do you have an outside fellowship (CSC, enterprises)?
6. What is your goal in my group?
7. Can you give me some referees' addresses (unofficial ones), and transcripts?
