Only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, will education be truly effective?  In my point of view, though I concede that students will get better education in terms of their particular needs and interests, it is hard to distinct the true needs and interests and temporal curiosity. Besides, education agency also can hardly bear the burden of meeting the needs and interests of each student.

To begin with, as a proverb goes, "interest is the best teacher". True interests and needs of students can really ignite the passion and energy of them so that they can devote more time, money, energy and resource to that realm. In school, whatever in from grade school to high school, it is common to see that student excel well in specific subjects in which he/she shows strong interests. Due to different interests, the former boring and difficult study and research to one student on one realm equate to interesting and recreational enjoyment to another. Psychologically, individual needs and interests represent inner power; while the other strength such as pressure for admission or enrollment of college or university, persuasion of working hard from parents and teachers, etc. are all involved in the external power. The inner power takes priority than external power to influent the action of students.

Of course, if current education system can fulfill the need and interests of each student, arrange individual curriculum and develop unique method to distinctive student, it is very good. Nevertheless, it is not realistic, for two reasons. The first reason has to do with the possibility whether the budget can afford the resource burden exacerbated by the broadening need to accomplish the need and interests of each student. Education resources such as school faculty, computers, playground, educational investment, are greatly limited, vis-a-vis the distinctive needs and individual needs of plethora numbers of students.

For another, how the students know which area they are best interested in and in great needs? Students should not be left to decide. They are young, naive child, their once curiosity on some area does not necessarily means that it is their true interests. Furthermore, the interest of little child, especially those grade-schoolers, varies greatly as time goes by. Since the provisional interests that boys and girls show cannot be naturally recognized as true interests, then special educational service to that interest cannot reach the expected effects as a result. Also, consider the interests are temporary and do not persist, when facing difficulty or hard work, student's interests turn to other way. Moreover, some needs of student are need of their parents, who are immersed in the interest of choosing a hot realm for the future career of their children. This, run contrary to making every student educated conclusively.

In sum, true needs and interests of students can serve as catalyst to the education of them, for their inner potential in acquiring knowledge and creative thinking can be stimulated in this way. However given constant budget on education and unavailability to truly identify and clarify the needs and interests of students, it has a long way to go.

However given constant budget on education and unavailability to truly identify and clarify the needs and interests of students, it has a long way to go.
