Full-time Research Assistant at CUHK Business School

Job Description
We are looking for one or two highly skilled and motivated individuals to work as full-time research assistants at the CUHK business school for six months to two years. The start date is flexible. The compensation is highly competitive. We will sponsor a working visa in Hong Kong.
This position is ideal for individuals with a long-term interest in finance/accounting research. We welcome both candidates who are currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in mainland China and master/undergraduate students who want to apply for Ph.D. programs in accounting, finance, or any other fields at the business school. You will be mentored by professors Jun Chen, Yuqing Zhou, and Zili Zhuang, as well as other professors in the accounting department. A successful candidate can participate in the academic life at CUHK Business School, including attending research seminars and Ph.D. courses. We will also provide mentorship and guidance for applying to CUHK Ph.D. and other leading business Ph.D. programs.
The research projects will broadly revolve around financial accounting and corporate finance. You will work with us on various tasks, including data collection and cleaning, statistical programming and data visualization, and preliminary regression analysis.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will:
(i) have a solid quantitative background (incl. statistics and econometrics);
(ii) have strong programming skills (extensive experience with Stata or Python is a must);
(iii) be able to work independently to solve problems;
(v) be well organized and pay attention to details
(vi) be highly self-motivated, and adept at learning new technical skills when needed
