I strongly disagree to the statement above. Education specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student neither effective for achieving the purpose of education, nor effective for utilizing the social resources.

To begin with, education designed to meet each student's needs and interests is harmful for the growth of him. First, interests are not reliable in conducting students' education. Students, especially in lower grade, shift their interests fast from one field to another. Lacking knowledge of many subjects the school could offer, students may not know which subject really fit them. Second, education for each student may cause the lack of communication between students. Only the interact in peer group can develop the sense of cooperation, competition of students. These abilities are very important for students' development. Without cooperation, they cannot work on a huge, complicated project; without competition, they cannot intrigue their potential ability. In short, education just to meet each student's needs and interests is ineffective for student's growth.

Furthermore, education specifically for each individual is a waste of social resources. The number of qualified teachers is limited, and the teachers' energy and time are also limited. It is impossible for them to teach every student respectively. And teachers are once students, if they are taught this way too, the number of teachers educated is even more dubious. If these requirements are meet, it would cost the society unbelievable money for training teachers and resources to build up schools. In addition, some fundamental courses should be taught to every student. These courses are the base of many other courses. Students may not like these courses, but without this knowledge, they would find it impossible to learn the courses they interested in. For example, if a student is interested in the theory of physics, but do not have knowledge of math, he will never find how the formula was derived. These courses are unnecessarily taught specifically for each individual.

However, this method of education does have some advantages. Teachers can find a student's talents and potential ability more easily this way. While in a big class, these talents often be ignored for that teachers do not have ability to take care of every student. And class discrimination can be extinguished for the same reason. These are important especially for the quiet, not so outstanding students. With special attention to their ability, they can grow to a more successful person with confident.

To sum up, although education specifically designed for each student to meet their needs and interests have some advantages, it is ultimately ineffective not only in students' growth, but also in utilizing social resources.
