This is an era of legend, a course of changing, but what invariably happens is that we necessitate knowledge to survive and thrive in this world. Wedged in person's life and existing in awareness, intellect, have been worshiped and sometimes equated with knowledge or intelligence. There are a myriad of intellectuals, such as Noam Chomsky, who always cherish a hope that our society are obliged to emphasize more intellect-- reasoning and other cognitive ability. From my point of view, nothing could be closer from the truth.

True, world appears to us, including not only with geist but also logos or logic, Notwithstanding, to some extent, overwhelming emphasis on intellect or emotion will be identically result in catastrophe of humanity and snuff out our appreciated civilization. Too much focus on intellect will inescapably alter one into a rigid geek, freak, and kook, without any spiritual sublime of himself or herself, and ultimately become a nuisance to people around. Thus, of what value are these painters, musicians, poets and novelist if this world are lacking of emotional thinking, if the earth is merely a machine like a computer running program, and if our society no long need any creative and inspirational sparks?

Nonetheless, when we look back on the history we are familiar with, one of the great tragedies is that most wars, massacres, or any biggest humanity stains are result of devoid of intellect and seemingly overriding but monstrous passionate and advocate. Once people are deprived of intellect, by no means can one be in possession of enough fairness, reasonable and rational sight to evaluate the world, and this horrible practice might eventually destroy our wisdom Zion. Any authoritarian governments in the history demonstrate to us that they invariably advocate their people with over nationalism or hatred to other civilization, and they seldom endow people with apt reasonable and rational mind to think by themselves and every target of these government is aim at achieving ugly, ridiculous and depressing outcome.

What is more, no other aspects can be paralleled with intellect in terms of education. The students in primary school would even fail to know basic calculation were elementary mathematics not taught in class. Sure, this might be too extreme to indicate the significance of the intellect, but truth is that indoctrinating without logic mind, basic mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology knowledge, our offspring will ultimately end up with chaos and disordered society and cannot find the way out, trapped in the center of miasma desert but suffering enjoying seemingly aromas spiritual oasis. What a sweet misery! Is that our destiny or rather tragedy of future? Sadly, but yes. In addition, chances are good that cognitive ability is as paramount as reasoning in that cognitive skill always empower us more objective mind to think and to deduce. Therefore, should we not emphasize intellect, we would be encountered an unknown world and feeling as if lost in space, and all the emphasis about the non-intellect ability would reduce into forest of cliché.

Retrospectively, explicit as the significance of non-intellect is, our current world is still baked in the oven of war, discrimination, greed and etc, which springs and aggravates from the nadir of human instinct, and when we are in want of a code to live by, we are obliged to resort it to our collective and zenith mortal intrinsic mind as justice, fairness, and equality.
