Only through mistakes can there be discovery or progress.
I partially agree with the speaker's assertion that through mistakes can there be discovery or progress. As a matter of fact, there are other factors that may be more important than mistakes in determining any discovery or progress in the arduous way of exploring the unknown world.

First of all, there is no royal road to science, which always be thronged with difficulties and frustration, and any little discovery and progress need one’s ceaseless endeavors and strong personality, such as persistence, confidence, optimism, and devotion for science, to ensure one’s eventual success. We know that every little progress needs myriads of experiments, observation, and theory deduction, many of which are boring and time-consuming. Therefore, these spirits supply the inexhaustible source for their continuous research. To illustrate, two supreme scientists in modern physics-Newton and Einstein has set paradigm for us. It is hard to imagine that Newton how would formulate three fundamental laws of mechanics and the laws of gravitation and Einstein would found the general and special theory of relativity and the photoelectric effect, without these enduring spirits. It is just like the preeminent American inventor Thomas Edison once said that genius was one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.

Meanwhile, arduous work and enduring persistence is blind and aimless unless one can be able to perceive everything with an acute foresight and grasp every opportunity as much as possible in all the spheres of life.  A typical example in this case is that the discovery of the medicine penicillin, discovered by a famous British chemist-Alexander Fleming, which is commonly used because of its effective function in wound infection and other infectious diseases. When Fleming did his experiment some day, he discovered that the contaminant blue-green mould, which was neglected and discarded by all his counterparts in that time, was inhibited the bacterial cultivation. But, Fleming revealed this phenomenon with his careful and insightful observation and eventually he made it. After all, the Fortune's favored child belongs to the prepared minds.

Nevertheless, mistakes also play a considerably important role in the process of any discovery or progress of human great breakthrough. It is just as the saying goes that mistakes are the precursors to success. Indeed, the apparent characteristic between human and other creatures is that he has the capacity of thinking independently and rationally, also he always tries his best to improve himself in order to be more perfect. Furthermore, human can learn the knowledge and fruitions, which have been achieved and accumulated by his precursors for a long period in their long and continuously pursuing truth of nature, thus steer clear of the sandbars and accomplish progress. In addition, human also has the capacity of summarizing and learning the lessons from his own past experience. In the most case, he will never commit the exactly the same blunders, though we can rule out the possibility that he might make a mistake next time. All these can contribute greatly to human’s final success.

In conclusion, if one wants to success or make progress in the way to climb the summit of science, he should make persistence as his good friend, prudence as his brother, and get ready for every opportunities god endow him, also he should make experience as his reference and learn the lessons from it in order to conquer any difficulty.

Only through mistakes can there be discovery or progress.
I partially agree with the speaker's assertion that through mistakes can there be discovery or progress. As a matter of fact, there are other factors that may be more important than mistakes in determining any discovery or progress in the arduous way of exploring the unknown world.

First of all, there is no royal road to science to science? Or to scientific discoveries…, which always be thronged with difficulties and frustration, and any little discovery and progress need one’s ceaseless endeavors and strong personality, such as persistence, confidence, optimism, and devotion for science, to ensure one’s eventual success. We know that every little又来every little哦 progress needs myriads of experiments, observation, and theory deduction, many of which are boring不是吧,别人觉得有趣那 and time-consuming.

In the most case, he will never commit the exactly the same blunders, 好歹点了一下ts… though we can rule out the possibility that he might make a mistake next time.

It is hard to imagine that Newton how would formulate three fundamental laws of mechanics and the laws of gravitation and Einstein would found the general and special theory of relativity这个说的详细,general and special theory of relativity and the photoelectric effect, without these enduring spirits. 感觉这里两个例子不是很贴切,没能说明某某精神对成就的影像啊,只是罗列了成就,cannot proveIt is just like the preeminent American inventor Thomas Edison once said that genius was one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration同样,此句不能支持本段主题句.

Nevertheless, mistakes also play a considerably important role in the process of any discovery or progress of human great breakthroughs. It is just as the saying goes that mistakes are the precursors to success. Indeed, the apparent characteristic between human and other creatures is that he has the capacity of thinking independently and rationally, also he always tries his best to improve himself in order to be more perfect. Furthermore, human can learn the knowledge and fruitions, which have been achieved and accumulated by his precursors for a long period inof their long and continuously pursuing truth of nature, thus steer clear of the sandbars and accomplish progress. In addition, human also has the capacity of summarizing and learning the lessons from his own past experiences. In the most case, he will never commit the这个the可以去掉吧,不肯定 exactly the same blunders感觉这里复数应变为单数,the same特指, though we can rule out the possibility that he might make a mistake next time.

因为它们和mistakes不在一个逻辑层面上! mistake应该是和find the correct way, find the truth 在一个逻辑层面上的,机遇和努力在另一个逻辑层面上.
