Video camera, which provides an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life has become an important form for recording the life pictures. Some people even say that it is more efficient in the documentation than written records and that the video camera could take the place of the pen. But against what the speaker says, I suggest that both of them are important for recording things, and with different fields, choosing different instruments.

In the first place, the important reason that can presented to develop my position is that with the progress of science and technological, the video camera indeed becomes popular for the modern family, with which they can easily take what ever they want and record what happened around them. So efficiently, the video camera could be use at anytime, anywhere and the simple operating system makes it quickly understand by the people. When somebody arrived at a beautiful place he never been to the man may record the views with his video camera, which can store hundreds pictures and videos to describe the experience in his life rather than take out a pen to draw it down with several hours, and the only additions to the equipment is just some little batteries.

But every story has the other side; sometimes the video machine seems to be less effective than the traditional methods. It is well know to all that the camera is not always make sense, such as the daily life records, when mom do some shopping and buys the meal materials, just writing the things down with a pen on a paper is enough. There is no need that we documentation everything by the video camera, compared the modern machine to the weapon, we only use the gun when we on the war to fight the opposite but not every daily time we want a try. So to illustrate this, a case in point in this respect is that when there is something we may take the pen for recoding more efficiently and timeless, such as the accounting, minutes, or some journals, it is more effort to use the written system than the electrical one.

Moreover, since the camera records the views accurate and convincing, some shortcomings are still remained and the most considerable one is that it can't bring out the emotions in that time when the records being marked. Although what we clearly see is the accurate environments and the exactly normal one we know well, but through the pictures or the records taken by the machine we may hardly read the makers' personal emotions and their personal views. On the contrary, with the handwriting, we can understand the writer's humanity, the positive and the negative ideology, the happiness and the sadness, the good and the evil, the side which he stands by... When the advantages and the disadvantages of the video camera and the written system are carefully compared, the most striking conclusion is obvious that choose different one in dissimilar situations  

Consequently, from the analysis and reasons mentioned above, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become more persuasive than any one of them, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that the video camera seems to be more modernization than the written records but still that the pen plays a vital role in the documentation, when and where to use the which, a proper choice must to be paid.
