Since the process of education involves a large number of different students, and the purpose of education is to prepare all the students for their survival in society, many people come to the conclusion that education can be effective only it is designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. Ostensibly, this idea seems to be reasonable and worthwhile. Nevertheless, after close examination, I contend that it is always impossible and unnecessary to make every individual's needs and interests meet through education. [make…meet搭配有问题,直接用mee作谓语t就行了]
In the first place, the contemporary situation makes it impossible for education to cater to every student's needs and interests, whether in a poor country or a rich one. In order to let all students' needs and interests be met [let…be met读着也不舒服], there should be enough teachers, for that [in that? 这里应该是原因状语] only by giving every student individual attention can we achieve this ends. But the fact is that, in almost every nation, the number of students in school far exceeds the number of teachers. In my high school, for example, every teacher was in charge of almost 80 students. Then how can they provide enough attention for every student? Even requiring the teachers work 7 days a week or spend [不对称, 前面用的是分词] certain after-work time can be far from enough. In addition, as we all know that each student is always different form others, and even some of them often hold odd and eccentric ideas and interests, then how can teachers do this job. [in addition…部分可以再展开一下, 那样此段会更好]
In the second place, to satisfy every individual' needs and interests is not a proper job for education. As a public institution, school and university are intended to provide all the students something are needed for them to get into the society [不合你的主题] in the future, therefore the primary mission of them is to offer some common knowledge or experience that all the students need. And the development of individuals is better to left to student them-selves. For example, as a material major in my university, I also like music very much. But, is there a need for my requirement of instruction in music to be meet [met] by the education that I received in my college. Of course, it is not the job of my college education. Otherwise, our department of material science will be a mixed one without its distinctive features. In addition, there is a fact that some students often have a number of eccentric or harmful interests. In this respect, there is no reason for education to make those interests be met. For example, while in my college, some of my classmates usually gambled in our dorms, even if it is strictly forbidden. Obviously, the administrators of my college should not let those students develop this kind of interest but rather to restrain it. [此段论证有些不够严谨. provide all the students something are needed for them to get into the society 是speaker的意思, 是你要否定的, 这里你却肯定了. 要么, 你应该考虑把下面的让步提到前面写]
Admittedly, for the full development of every student, education has a certain measure of responsibility to satisfy as much needs and interests of all students, which will ultimately benefits the society as a whole by fostering well-round students. After all, in order to survive and contribute to the society, all students need be equipped with a variety of different knowledge that is required for solving many problems in the future. [似乎要强调不应通过speaker说的那种方法去满足学生的兴趣和需求]
To sum up, while I concede that all students should develop their healthy interests and education should meet students' reasonable needs, I contend that it is not feasible for education to meet the individual needs and interests.
