The media(music,book,etc) tends to create rather than reflect the values of social

The relationship between media and values of society is a discussing problem  in an era that media is becoming more and more important in our daily life.The author asserts that media creates society values.While I concede that sometimes media bring new elements to social values, generally speaking, media and social values interact on each other.
On one hand,media create social values for the media today are so important in daily life of modern people.Nowadays,people are so easily to be attracted by the fashion mostly scattering via media that a new dress delivered in Paris will soon be popular in New York. A best example to demonstrate the media's influence to people is the concept of "beauty".In the past, the people in different place have different value about "beauty". Maybe some place value fat rather some place value thinness.However, as in televison and film,more and more people start to hold the value that "beauty" should be thin, which is the product made by media industry.Today, from the judgement of people to the ideas about achievement, it is a trend that more and more people all over the world hold similar ideas.It is media that creates new ideas to the people who don't know about such social value before.

On the other hand, social values provide media with the ideas about how the people think and what the people like, which make media more arresting.Although sometimes it seems that media have so much influence on social interest, even create new social values,mostly,social values give more ideas to media.Social values is some core values of some similar way people in a certain place think.If media can comply to the social values in some place, it will succeed more easily than create new ideas there.For example,the Discovery Programs, which is aim at seeking for the old cultures are popular all over the world.The main director of Discovery once said:"The only thing we do is to find the core values of a culture and then present it to the people.Admittedly, media have so much influence in the world.However,we are not only recording the different social values in different societies,which are wealth of human." Media, which relect the core social values, are more profound than the others because it capture the heart of human.

In sum, social values and media are both are part of human spirital world which interact each other.For certain society as a whole,it has set up its special social values lasting for a long time.The media based on them will sure attract the people.At the same time, the media which bring the new ideas to influence the social values there, especially through the youth who are interested in new things.And the two interact on each other.For example, in Beijing, some old temples always hold modern concerts.In the night, you can see the old yellow and red bricks shining in the modern lighting which create fashion style of media.It is hard to accept for many people at first.But as time gone by, more and more people are willing to enjoy such combination of old social values and the new media.

Nowaday, media created new ideas to a society while the constant social values of it also have influence on the media.It is just like the sea bring ebbs to the land ,go back, and then left the shells to the land as a part of it.
