Issue 7 欢迎拍砖,各位高人给看看把,不胜感激啦

In our modern society, with the widespreading of the technology of video and sound, the video cameras have provided a more accurate and convincing method of recording, which insofar replaces writing, the traditional method of documentation. Famous for their objectiveness and accuracy, the video cameras have become an indispensable part in our lives. However, from my perspective, writing, the traditional method of documentation, though may be misinterpreted or altered by the recorders sometimes, is still a significant method of recording, which can not be neglected even if the video cameras have emerged. Both means should be combined together to serve their best for human beings.

First, since the technology of video and sound came into being in the first half of last century, human beings have obtained enormous benefits from the rapid development of it, especially the application of the video cameras. The most conspicuous feature of the video cameras lies in that it is a method of documentation with great objectiveness and accuracy. In our traditional method of recording------writing, the fact will in a way be misinterpreted by the recorder due to his or her subjectiveness, which may provide an imprecise documentation for the descendants to review. It is an inevitable thing to be happened no matter how just the recorder is, thus when we study the recording of our predecessors, we may not comprehend the meanings the want to convey to us. However, the emergence of the video cameras resolves the problem. For instance, some people in the Japanese government wants to garble the history and deny the enormity the fascists have committed during the Second World War all the time, because most documentation about the war are writing which can be easily distorted Supposed if there are tremendous evidence about the war which is recorded by the video cameras, no matter what the fascists do, the history can still not be garbled.

Another eminent advantage of the video cameras is that it is more intuitionistic than writing. It is especially obvious when we describe an object. Using the method of writing, we may have to enumerate all kinds of attributes about this object, which sometimes is incomprehensible for other people. Even the reader acquire all the information about the object, the length, the width, the weight, the color and so on, he still have to convert these information to a specific model in his mind, and sometimes this process is complicated. With the video cameras, which offer an intuitionistic impression to us rather than an abstract one, we can see the object directly and rapidly shape a model in our mind without any conversion.

Nevertheless, writing, our traditional method of recording, should also be attached into significant importance because it can perform some functions which can not be accomplished through the video cameras. A striking example is that the implication which is implicated in the video cameras is not obvious and needs the exploration of the readers, however, the one in the writing can be directly outlined, so that the readers do not have to conjecture the meanings behind the documented fact. After all, video cameras are just suitable to be utilized to record facts rather than specifics. Moreover, the inexpensiveness and convenience of the writing provide it more flexibility when compared with the renascent video cameras, owing to the latter’s relatively expensive expenditure and large storage spaces.

In sum, the emergence of the video cameras have evolved our method of documentation in that it provides us a more precise and convincing documentation of our contemporary life. It is both objective and intuitionistic than our traditional method of recording------writing. However, the method of writing should not be neglected neither, and should be considered as a counterpart of the video cameras, because some functions it offered can not be replaced by the video cameras. Both the video cameras and the writing serve as significant forms of documenting and should be attached equal importance to perform the task of recording.

历史资料少就可以garble吗?
