The following procedures may let you know more about the
Entry Permit application of Mainland resident:
1. With effect from 15 July 2003, the Mainland residents who apply for
full-time Postgraduate degree programs run by tertiary institutions
in
Hong Kong should complete Part A," Personal Particulars"
(i.e.ID(E)936A)
and Part E, " Declaration on Applicant's Educational Attainment"
(i.e.ID(E)936E)
of the Application form ID(E)936 (English version) which can be
downloaded from the following website: http://www.info.gov.hk/immd/ ,
and provide supporting documents showing their academic
qualifications
and admission offer letter of acceptance, and financial proof (e.g.
bank statements, saving account passbooks, tax receipts, self or
parents' employment salary letters, estate property certificates),
2. Applicants who have not been issued with a travel document
should also provide their Names in English (pin-yin) and copies of
their mainland resident's Identity Card and household registration
record as supporting documents.
3. Parts ID(E)936A and ID(E)936E of the ID(E)936 Application Form and
all
relevant supporting documents as mentioned above, and Part E,
"Sponsor
Certificate" (i.e. ID(E)936B --- this to be completed by HKUST) must
be
submitted to the Immigration Dept. of HKSAR through HKUST (the
sponsor)
granting the admission offer of acceptance.
4. If the Entry Permit Applications are approved, the Immigration
Dept.
of HKSAR will issue Entry Permit labels which are to be collected
by
the HKUST (the sponsor) for onward transmission to the applicants (
by Registered Mail).
5. Upon collection of the Entry permit Labels at the Immigration Dept.
of
HKSAR, HKUST (the sponsor) have to pay an Entry Permit Label Fee of
HK$135.00 for each collection on behalf of the applicants.
The amount payable will be reimbursed to the University at time of
Program/Course Registration upon their arrival at HKUST.
6. With the Entry Permit Labels, Applicants will then apply for
EXIT-ENTRY PERMITS for TRAVELLING TO AND FROM HONG KONG and MACAO
(abbreviated as EEP) and RELEVANT EXIT ENDORSEMENT from the
PUBLIC SECURITY BUREAU OFFICE where their household
registrations are kept.
You are required to submit the Parts ID(E)936A and
ID(E)936E of the ID(E)936 Application Form and all relevant supporting
documents to our Admissions Office for your entry permit
application around end of May.
Pls. be acknowledged that we have received the Entry Permit application
package. We also have completed the Sponsorship form and sent it
together
with the application package to the HK Immigration Dept. on 14 May for
further action.
As far as we know, the HK Immigration Dept. require to take around 4
weeks
to complete the applications. We'll keep you be informed the status.
