The following appeared in an editorial in a Prunty County newspaper.
'In an attempt to improve highway safety, Prunty County recently lowered its speed limit from 55 miles per hour to 45 on all major county roads. But the 55 mph limit should be restored, because this safety effort has failed. Most drivers are exceeding the new speed limit and the accident rate throughout Prunty County has decreased only slightly. If we want to improve the safety of our roads, we should instead undertake the same kind of road improvement project that Butler County completed five years ago: increasing lane widths and resurfacing rough roads. Today, major Butler County roads still have a 55 mph speed limit, yet there were 25 percent fewer reported accidents in Butler County this past year than there were five years ago.'

In this argument,the author claims that PC(Prunty County) should restore the 55 mph limit as BC(Butler Country).To subtantiate the claim,the author cities the traffic condition of PC and BC.Nevertheless,the evidences and inferences are problematic that they accomplish little toward supporting the claim,as discussed below.

To begin with,the author's conclusion that PC should restore the 55 mph speed limit based on the reasoning that lowering the speed limit has failed.However,it is not necessarily the case.It i equally possible that some juvenile drivers who is not good at driving have come into PC and several accidents are caused by them.Therefore,those number of accidents partly offset the decreasing number of accidents.If so,it is too hasty to draw any conclusion that lowering the speed limit has failed.

In addition,the author commits a fallacy of false analogy.Perhelps drivers of BC are skillful that they can enure their driving safety while driver of PC cannot.If so,lowering the PC's speed limit is deireable.Lacking evidence to prove that the situations of PC and BC are similar enough to support the analogical reasoning.

Finally,the conclusion that PC should restore the 55 mph speed limit is oversimplified.In fact,restoring the 55 mph speed limit is not the only way to decline the number of accidents.Perhelps the bad condition of PC' road is the reason why the accidents happens.Therefore,improving the road condition would turn out to be the best way to address the problems of accident.

To sum up,the claim is weak becaue it i not well supported.To bolter it I need to know more information about the traffic condition of PC and the comparison of PC and BC.

一早起来，看到楼主发了这么多习作，而且都是凌晨发的，真是努力到极点了，pf啊～
可是首先你的发文格式就不对
再则，你动不动就说叫人给分，你直接花10 dollar叫 ets 的一种改习作服务吧（我记得网上有），那样就能知道多少分了
给了分有怎么样呢？关键还是要琢磨如何把作文写好，而不是简单跟你说‘哦，你这个多少分’，是吧～
再有，一般argument模式较为固定，大家较少给人批改，一般就是看看主要的逻辑错误是否都找齐了，再一个就是驳斥论证是否到位，然后就是语言的问题咯

不知楼主看了这些话，会不会很不爽呢～？呵呵
待会就给你看看这篇Argument吧，我也来学习学习

说到这个论证的深入，现在也是我头痛的一项啊。。。]

万分感谢。我只是看到寄托上很多牛人ARG文章动辄四五百字，我得一直就三百多。搞的很自卑 但一直怀疑限时情况怎能写那么多。

所以总想问分

嘻嘻，我前些天也是，一直再问能得几分，
不过牛人给过一个分后，就不问了
其实我觉得arg还是很好写4－500的，3个错误，3段，然后举两个反例就差不多了，可惜就是我找错误不够快，而且很多错误很含糊，觉得有点牵强

关键不在字数；
我第一篇issue都过700字了；可是论证就是没到位
argument37得也写得不好，罗嗦导致字数多了；
可关键的论证分析并没有达到用中文想说的效果咯～
当然，字数太少也不好
关键在于把道理用英文精练地表达出来，把问题分析说明白了，论证到位，那才好啊
由于时间所限，想写好而且字数足够真是困难啊。。。我也头痛。。:mad:
