China has a great number of customs. Let me tell you something about friendship. Real good friends will always help each other. I can go to a friend's home any time of the day, and he will drop what he/she is doing and welcome me. It might sound strange to foreigners, because in the west, people usually schedule appointments with each other in advance. But, the friendships in China is very strong and deep, and it would be unheard of not to drop what you are doing and invite a friend in.
