I strongly disagree with the speaker that society does not place enough emphases on the intellect,in fact , it is the opposite, our society has pay too much attention on the intellect aspect, such as reasoning and other cognitive skills.I would hold that besides the education on intellect, there is another sphere--emontional education, which is of paramount importance.

There is no denying that placing emphasis on the intellect, which refers to reasoning and conitive skills is necessary and indispensable in ecucation,for the intellect training iwluld have substantial influence on students,either at school or in the society. Without sufficent nurtur on the intellect sphere, students would suffer from lacking capabilities of reasoning and cohnitive skills, and such a student can hardly stand to gain success in our ration--dominant society.Yet, both parents and school pay a great deal of attention to the development of  the intellect aspect .My empirical obversation imforms that students are  mainly trained and drilled to advance in reasoning and cognitive skills  ,while emotional training, to a large extent, is neglected by the society as a whole.

While society,including teachers and parents, are enjoying the advancement students made in intellect, the fact however, in all seriouness, proved that without enough drilling in emotional domain ,the new generantion are suffering issues of different kinds causing by the problems of psychological and mental matters.A recent survey manifests that ,a growing number of students lost themselves in study, that is:students are working hard and performing excellent just because teachers and parents require them to do so; they themselves, in fact, have no idea of the value of learning.The result of the survey offers accounts for a teacher's feeling that students are losing interests in learning.

Besides the matter mentioned above, sociologists warned the society that the increasingly juvinile deliquency, and the abuse of alcohol,as well as the drug trafficker.One authority on psychology had made a inquiry into juvinile criminals,and he rated that, the majority of them have pressures form study, or family,or lack of understanding and love.Why that happened?It is a seriour question for the society to examine ourselves.Exports noted, among those criminals, there are some good students who had done a good performance in school.But the good score, at the same ,exerts heavy pressure on them, and thus gives rise to the mental and psychologial issues.

To sum up ,  our society lay enough emphasis on the intellect traning, while their reasoning and other cognitive skills are advancing, the lacking of emotional education lead them to severe problems.To ensure the new generation a bright future, society should place more attention to their emotion.
