哭穷信一般应该写给你申请的系的招生委员会主任。如果写给研 究生院这个官僚机构，一般没什么效果。毕竟他们每天都会收到大量的申请， 以及从中国其他地方来的数以千计的哭穷，他们不会在乎你的这封信的。

I did not enclose application fee in my package because I am really poor and the fee is much more than my monthly income while I have to support by myself.However, it doesn't mean that I will defer or waive the fee.Actually, I am trying all my best to collect money.Although collecting money will be really hard and time-comsuming,I will send the money as soon as I can!

It is well known that your graduate program is highly competitive and reviewing files will cost you much time.In order to save time, I beg you please review my application materials firstly.

Application Fee Waive Request
I am so sorry that I have not the capability to pay the application fee in r
ecent 4 months.
I am now a graduate in Tsinghua University. I haven't monthly income when I
was an undergraduate in the Department of Electrical Engineering. So I did n
ot have any deposit when I was admitted into Tsinghua graduate school. Thoug
h I get the fellowship from Tsinghua and the research assistantship from our
department, my monthly income is no more than $38. The application fee is r
eally a financial burden to me. Moreover, my home is in the hinterland of Ch
ina, my mother has been retired and my fathers' yearly income is only $800-$
900, and he will retire early next year. 。。。。。。。Every month we have
to squeeze some
money out of our small quantity of stipend to pay our rent. So I cannot acc
ept any money from my family.
However, to study in an esteemed graduate school of USA is the most importan
t thing in my youth. Although I am now in the financial deficit status, I wi
ll try my best to find a part-time job and pay the application fee as soon a

s possible so that I can catch the opportunity of advancing my studies in US

This is very important to me. As stated in my application, I need an assistantship for an income to finance my education at your University. I also look forward to work with you. I know that a successful graduate education is vital for a young student to become a mature researcher, so that it would be a great honor to me if I can study under your instruction in the next few years.

Could you tell me if I have a chance to apply for a TA position because I think the teaching experience is my forte. I have taught undergraduate "xxx", and my communication skills is quite well. In my work, I found teaching is a great pleasure and it builds up my confidence. Because of this, I would apply for a TA. I think the work in your department will be more challenging and inviting.
