'Clearly, the successful use of robots on missions to explore outer space in the past 20 years demonstrates that robots could be increasingly used to perform factory work more effectively, efficiently, and profitably than human factory workers. The use of robots in factories would offer several advantages. First, robots never get sick, so absenteeism would be reduced. Second, robots do not make mistakes, so factories would increase their output. Finally, the use of robots would also improve the morale of factory workers, since factory work can be so boring that many workers would be glad to shift to more interesting kinds of tasks.'

In this argument, the auger concludes that the use of robots in factories has numerous merits. To support this assertion, the arguer points out that the utilizing of robots to explore the outer space is successful. What is more, the arguer also points out three detail reasons to illustrate the advantages of using the robots in factories. However, careful scrutiny of the argument reveals several logical fallacies, which render it unconvincing.

In the first place, the arguer commits a false analogy. With no regard to the differences, the arguer discreetly equates the missions of exploring the outer space with the jobs in factories. It is possible that the robots nowadays are specially designed to match the requirement of working in the outer space; therefore, the robots might not reach the criteria of working in a factory. For example, the outer space exploring expects the robots to do some simple steps of collection, while the factory works require the robots to do some movements which are more complicated than the former one; therefore, the robots are not likely to finish their jobs successfully.

In the second place, even though the robots never get sick, but there are times they may breakdown, needing repairing. For example, if the robots are invaded by some computer virus, which leads to the paralyzing of their systems, the absenteeism will be more significant than any other human workers, thus ,the lose of the factory will be more tremendously. What is more, even if the robots do not make mistakes, it does not necessarily give rise to the increasing of output. It may be possible that the robots are not as experience as those human workers who have worked on that post for so many years. Consequently, the efficiency of working will be decreased immensely which also leads to the reduction of the output.

In the third place, the arguer cannot confidently come to the conclusion that the moral of the workers will be improved. It is possible that some of these workers are unwilling to leave their original position in that they love the work very much. In addition, some of the workers might be laid off since they are suitable for other positions except the one which is taken place by the robots. The arguer cannot rule out these possibilities before state out his/her assertion.

To sum up, the argument is not as persuasive as it stands. To better strengthen the conclusion, the arguer should provide more information illustrating that the tasks of the outer space are the same with those in the factories. What is more, to better evaluate the argument, I need more data concerning the absenteeism, output, and the morale of the workers.

我觉得这道题比较简单,而作者也写得很清楚哦.但如果能把profit分出来就跟好了.
