【正文】
When we comes to law, we always think of justice and order. Law is something like a binding custom or practice of a community, in other words, a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority. According to the statement in the issue, every individual in a society is bound to obey just laws and disobey unjust laws. I concede that hewing to just laws is no doubt to guarantee the order of our society while resisting unjust laws indicates justice of human beings, however, to my point of view, judging if the law is just or not proves too difficult at the same time.
Just law is worthy of abeyance and must be conformed to. On the one hand, it is the significance of law that appears to be bound every one in its precinct so that to keep the normal order of the community. If there were no abeyance, there would be no order for us. For example, laws in our country rule that motor vehicle should give way to foot passengers, and cars travel left while foot passengers go right. These laws with abeyance of every traveler bring a ordered condition for traffic. On the other hand, just laws protect human rights by force everyone to conform to it. Each of us also has to obey the laws in order to make our own right realized. Therefore, to keep the order of the whole society well-regulated and our right realized
But, if the law is so unjust that impair people’s life and possession, we, the ones who want to pursue justice, should combine together to disobey or even resist the laws with no hesitate. And this is even more important to our society, for unjust law may bring gigantic ruin to human beings. As is seen in the second word war, Hitler made a series of laws which could be treated as unjust laws. Under the control of Hitler and his laws, mass of the Jews were killed optionally as he liked, and no justice any more then. Still, warm hearted people in German would like to disobey the laws and hide the Jews in their house. More and more people including several judges began to resist the laws in spite of the miserable results followed. If it were not for the resisting of people to the laws and Hitler, no success would be reached. Thus, when being in front of unjust laws, everyone with justice in his heart should and has the duty to disobey and even to resist the laws.
Admittedly, each person has a duty to not only obey just laws but also disobey unjust one, nevertheless, it is far more difficult for the judge or common people to decide whether the law is just or not. Since every person has his own value system, something that one considered as just may seems unjust in others’ eyes. Consider euthanasia as an example. In several countries, euthanasia is allowed by laws, and regarded as a humane thing as the patient’s grieve would be alleviated if euthanasia is taken. However, in other countries, euthanasia seems brutal, which equals to killing a person, and of course forbidden. How can we tell whether the law about euthanasia is just or not? In the countries where it is allowed, the relative laws are just; but the other countries, the laws are unjust.
So in a word, laws are not so easy to be told whether just or not, however, if we could make it, undoubtedly, every person in the society will has the responsibility to comply with just laws and revolt unjust ones, so that we could hold a harmonious and just society.
