Art, which refers to providing pleasure and expressing humans' spirit, is gifted lasting value by artists who has created artistic works and spread by critics who has appraised these glorious manifestations from professional perspectives. It is too simple to assert whether the artist or the critic gives society some lasting value things. On balance, I concede that the eternal merits of art are the combination achievements from both the artist and the critic.

It is universally acknowledged that the artist not any other individual creates a variety of artistic forms, including literature, music, paintings, movies and so forth. And actually what can last forever to influence human beings heart and bring about people endless spiritual enjoyment is just these artist masterpieces. It is the artist that cognizes the nature by his/her unique sense and describe this understanding through distinct artist works. So the artist lasting value that contains the essence of art could only lie on the creative process by the artist.  An apt example of the point involves Monet, one of the most distinguished painters in the history, creating Sunset -- the  representative of Impressionism. For the reason that in Monet time, publics could not catch the authentic meaning of impressionable paintings, this masterpiece in art realm can not be accepted by the society. But can we deny its peerless lasting value just because there had been no critics understood it in time? Definitely not. In short, it is no hardness to make sure that lasting value impacting the world greatly comes from the artist who gives the work the critical thinking and special beauty.

On the other bout, there is no denying that critic makes the artist value more lasting and more meaningful. No doubt artists always some transcendent individuals whose opinions may seem eccentric or weird to public so that the existing of the critic is completely necessary. The critic is someone who has profound understanding of art as well as artists so that they are able to perceive and evaluates artist manifestations more comprehensive than almost laypersons. The statement brings immediately to mind Matrix, a famous science fictional film produced by Hollywood, narrating a story about technology revolution. Without the help of professional comments from the critic, it is indeed different for publics to know what the film is intend to deliver. So the critic’s interpretable function can make the artist pieces better understand by the society and then the lasting value of art could impact the nation in a positive way. The critic could find the soul of the artist and explain the excellent thinking via a more accepted method to the society. Thus, it is the critic who gives an access for public to contact the lasting value of art aptly.

What is more, not only do critics demonstrate the outstanding thinking of the artist but also they spread what the society expects s and appraises the works of artists. It is truly that the significance of the art is to provide entertainment and beauty for the human in order to satisfy our spiritual pursuit. As a result, if the artist just focuses on their own realization of the globe but ignores what almost people perceive the world, maybe the emergence of artist works would lost their lasting value per se. Simply put, without the directly creative process of the artist, the lasting value of art holds neither existing form nor original meaning so that there is noting for human being to seek for their spiritual requirement. Meanwhile, without the critic’s position as a bridge between the artist and public, explaining the transcendent understanding of the society and nature from the artist, the influence of artistic lasting value maybe could not achieve the greatest. In general, both the artist and the critic contribute to the artist eternal value which gives the whole society benefits.
