健康虽然重要，可是绝大部分的人并不是努力后才得到的健康。你说健康是one
of the greatest significant elements of success，也对，但是准确地说健
康是成功的一个必要的条件而不是成功的一个部分。所以，除非你多说几句，否
则这样说是不太合情理的。其实你只要反过来强调一下就行了，没有健康，有再
多钱也不算成功。
下面的Happiness也有类似的意思。两段最好有不同的角度。你这两段中虽然是
说两方面，可是都是同一种情况。

The faster the society develops, the more difficult we can define success. Some people hold the view that success are only related to money. Although it is no doubt that money is an important aspect to demonstrate success. I totally disagree that only people who earn a lot of money are successful.

Why I reject the view that only people who earn a great deal of money are successful? The most important reason is that money can be earned by means of violating laws. For instance, some people, selling weapons , have a great deal of money. Do you think these people are successful? Of course not. These money are so dirty that we would look down upon the people who earn these money.

There is another subtle point we should consider, that is, many people who work in some special positions are indeed successful. Scientist, inventing a new machine which can greatly improve the quality of people’s living, are successful. Doctors, saving the lives of people, are successful.Teachers, educating a large number of useful people, are successful. All of these people are successful, but they do not have much money.

What is more, it is the people who have contributed to the society are successful. Many businessmen who earn a large number of money have contributed little to the society, whereas some people with low salaries have done many things which are beneficial to other people and the society.

To sum up, I totally disagree that only people who earn a lot of money are successful.There are many other people with little money who are successful. Not only is success related to the way money is earned, but it also have something to do with people’s positions and their contribution to the society.

Money, an inevitable component in society, is an approach for trading and a common tool in commercial world. Based on the understanding of the economic development throughout the world is the misconception that money is a symbol of success. In my view, According to the successful persons or renowned companies’ s experiences, success can be represented by contribution to community and perseverance in pursuing goals.

In the realm of academic world, the most famous scientists may sometimes suffer the predicament of financial scarcity and their successes mostly rely on their contribution to the world rather than how much they receive. Einstein’s life experience is a case in point. The relativism brings about the new vision in astronomical discovery and the quantum theory leads to the application of nucleus power.  Among the energy resources of fuel, electricity and nucleus power is the definitive answer that nucleus power is the most effective and energetic. Einstein’s theories surely create a significant commercial profit. However, through his life time, many times he should confront with the lack of money in his experiment. After all, Einstein was remembered as an intelligent figure, a prominent scientist but not a rich man. This fact demonstrates in academic world people are honored by their contribution to society.

Also, in the artistic world, here stands a variety of renowned people who are gripped by poverty but persevere in chase his career. Van Gogh was died in poverty. In his life few peoples could really appreciate his works. Otherwise, in the current world people respect him as the most resourceful artist and bids a high price to own a piece of his work. A masterpiece can not be shadowed by a low price and its value will be realized one day.

Money is indispensable in our daily life, while success is the normal dream people hold. Though we can not deny the vital function of the money, there is no precise connection between success and money. Compared with the money, determination and contribution may be more critical to decide whether a man is success or not.

Nowadays, the issue of defining “successful” has been brought to heated discussions. Many people believe that only those who earn a lot of money are successful. Admittedly, the monetary measure is a feasible way to judge a person’s achievements; yet I disagree with this belief, for the following three reasons.

In the first place, from the perspective of a single person, money only measures his or her career success, instead of other aspects such as the success of family life, friendship, etc. With modern society focusing more and more on pragmatism, many people pursue money as their ultimate goal, at the sacrifice of their private life. For example, a successful businessman many be hated by his colleagues for his dishonesty in dealing with the business. If that is the case, then I don’t think he would be regarded as a truly successful person.

In the second place, from the realm of the society, many people thought to be successful in certain social movements are often the ones lack of money. We need to look no further than our history books for the evidence. When Chinese revolutionists led Chinese farmers to fight against the foreign invaders, they gained nothing more than freedom. Yet they were remembered by history for their bravery and courage, which to some extent, depicted them as a group of successful social leaders.

Last but not the least, people nowadays have realized that diversification exists everywhere in life; hence, a single restricted definition of success would not catch up with the updated social trends. What we see is that many people with special talents deserve to be called successful. A successful artist may not earn much money, but he is able to keep the audience more in touch with their inner feelings; a successful teacher may not be wealthy indeed, but she teaches students the means to achieve great fortunes. Countless examples have aptly illustrated that in today’s society, money is far less essential to define what is thought to be a successful person.

To sum up, I tend to believe that though money is a measure of financial success, it still cannot judge a person of his or her non-financial achievements, nor can it be applied in describing the success of social activists. Actually, what we should apply to define success depend largely on people’s contribution and talents, instead of merely money.

In the present day, some people think that earning as much as possible money equal success. However, when it comes to my mind, i can not vote this idea, on the contrary, i think that making a lot of money can not be the only criterion of success. My statement is very convincing due to the following reasons. First of all, in the fast-pacing world many people earn a lot of money, but almost no one think him success, such as the robber, the evil-minded businessman, and some criminals, because such person make money by some criminal ways. Under such circumstance, on one would say that only people who earn a lot of money are successful. Moreover, some successful person in our mind maybe do not earn a lot of money at our standard, such as the teachers, the nurses, and even some scientists. For example, one of the most famous inventors, Edison, had patented more than one thousand inventions during his life, and some of them reshaped our world and gave great raise to industry, such as electronic bulb, phonograph, and move-picture camera. We all think him succeed. Even such a outstanding person also lived a normal life. Another striking model i should elicit is Gandhi. Even he was very poor, he was thought to be the most successful person in our mind for his striving for peace for his people. From this view, there are numerous successful person who not have a lot of money. In addition, the exact meaning of success is different to everyone. some people think earning as much as possible money equal success, others may believe that reading tremendous books means success, and maybe living a happy life also is success to someone. Since the criterion of success is different, why should some people insist the only standard of success is earing a lot of money?  In conclusion, i do not vote the statement that only people who earn a lot of money are successful.

Nowadays, it seems a dilemma for the public to decide whether only people who earn a lot of money are successful. Most people would hold this as a general truth. As for me, however, I still feel that money is only one aspect of success. People who can reach their goals and achieve their dreams are successful, no matter how much money they earn.

First of all, it is a wrong opinion for some people to equate money with success. If some people make a fortune by gambling, would you think they are successful? Most public prefer to say that these people are just lucky. One the other hand, many rich people do not think they are successful, because their real dreams have not come true. For example, my uncle who ever worked in a famous bank in China gave up this good job which can bring him a lot of money and became an artist. He said he preferred being a poor artist to having a job he didn’t like.

Furthermore, success means more than being a rich person. A student who studied very hard and was admitted into a famous college is successful. A mother who raises her children and makes them happy and healthy is successful. An old lady who starts to learn painting and gives her works to her friends as gifts is successful. In conclusion, a successful person is someone who has achieved his or her goal which may be just a small one, although he or she is not rich.

Admittedly, money can also be a criterion of a successful person. We have to admit that Bill Gates, the richest human in our world, is successful. But we should also know that Bill’s success is based on his hard work to achieve his dream that his software will be installed in every computer in the world.

To sum up, although many successful people are rich, earning a lot of money is just one aspect of being successful. In my opinion, whether you are rich or not, if you can achieve your goal that may be small, you are successful.
