Nowadays ever-increasing development of technology and overfull population result in a lot of social crisis that need to solve immediately, meanwhile, some certain anticipated problems of the future are predicted as well. How to deal with the relationship between current problems and future possibilities has long been a hot(我很喜欢这个hot,多形象生动啊,但是不知道会不会被算作不正式的语言~~~) issue mostly discussed. While various people hold various opinions on it, I tend to insist that both of them deserve the effort to solve and the best thing we can do is to find a balance between them.
First, it is admitted that government should lay more emphasis on the immediate problems of today, for these issues will undermine the stability and advancement of our society. For example, overpopulation has become one of the most urgent issues of our society, which have brought about a series of negative effects to the economic development and social security. For one hand(我看到领导该的了,我觉得你这里不是想用on the one hand, and on the other hand,你是想用for one thing, for another), too many people impose a heavy burden on the environment, that is, shortages of all the nature resource and contaminative surrounding. For another, as the supply of labor greatly exceeds the demands of the society, more and more people lose their jobs and become idleness, which bring on social unrest in mental perspective. And government should try their best to control this situation; otherwise, we would face more complex and challenge ones.
Second, paying more attention on the urgent issues does not equal to ignoring anticipated problems of future. What we do today is more or less affects our progeny in the future—after all, there is only one earth. For example, looking back to the past millennium especially after the industry revolution, the human being(s) have created enormous rich(这个地方没有看懂,首先rich不能这么用吧,richness还差不多。第二,哪个方面的richness呢?比如加个of technology) never happened before, and meanwhile, will pay a high price for that. The destroying(这个地方要改一下,有点诡异) ecology and pollution greatly menace to our offspring’s living. Another apt illustration of this point of view is that to seek for more economic benefit, modern planners rebuild and retarnish the old buildings, some of which exist thousand of years, to attract more tourists to visit in spite of undermine the original culture that have preserved for a long time. What should we do if our offspring do not realize our own culture, though we benefit from it a lot? Thus, we should not only consider the profit we seize now, but also(not only和but also是个平衡结构,你的not only后面加了动词,but also后面也要加动词。建议此处把动词consider提到not only前面,就平衡啦) what will be left to our fellowmen.
Finally, an enlightened society calls for a balance in both pressing problems and predictable problems. For one thing, if we did not address the social ills of the time or inappropriately address them, it would lead to a series of social problems in the future and solve the problems of today could give some guidance to the same anticipated problems. For another, predicting and solving the to-be crisis in the future correctly assure us with great courage and faith in solving nowadays difficulties. Thus, Government should pay more attention to the problems both of today and the future.
In sum, today’s social ills and problems in the future are both significant to our society, hence government can not neglect the important(名词) of either one and find a balance between them, and finally make a beautiful, healthy and harmonious society. |
