The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives.
观点：不完全同意此观点。
提纲：
1、历史研究的价值体现在和我们日常生活（包括人们的衣、食、住、行）是息息相关的方面，研究历史实际上研究历史各学科的知识，是为了更好的解决现在存在的问题。现存的问题往往和人们的日常生活相关，这体现在各个领域，如对艺术的研究，可以提升人们的着装品味；对营养学的研究，可以改善人们的饮食结构；对建筑学的研究可以改善人们的住房结构；对科技的研究可以使人出行更加便利和快捷等等。

2、不光和现在生活相关，历史研究的价值也是为了更好的制定政策，解决将来可能出现的问题。拿政治领域的事件为例，研究历史有助于国家的长治久安，以及国家长期目标的实现，可以以史为鉴，避免错误的再次发生，如对尼克松的watergate的研究，可以有效的避免将来执政者的滥用职权的再次发生；比如中日关系，应该以史为鉴，继往开来，这为日后制定中日外交政策起到重要的参考作用，避免不愉快的事情发生。

3、无论现存的问题还是将来要出现的问题，研究历史无疑是一项有效的工作，这是历史的价值体现。对历史的研究，不能就历史而历史，以发展的，变化的，辨正的眼光去研究历史，历史的价值才能真正体现出来，才能做到以历史为镜子，真正推动人类社会的全面进步。

However, in my views, I am not completely disagreeing with the issue, for one reason, study of history conduces to solve current problems in the society, which is related with people's life. Admittedly, the value of studying history is embodied on all-side aspects in people' daily lives, which may be involve dressing, diet, lodging, and traffic. To some extent, the study of history means studying history knowledge. Without history knowledge, it will be hard to imagine for the human society. In order to better solve current problems, which is always related with our daily lives, people usually search the answers from history.  For example, study of art may raise people's dressing taste; study of nutrition may alter our diet structure; study of architecture may promote people's resident environment; study of technology can enable people to be more convenient whether we are for travel or for business. In a word, it is more precisely to say it is the knowledge that alters our lives. As the famous British Bacon once said (and I paraphrased), History makes man wise." Consequently, study and development of history knowledge influence people's daily lives.

What' more, the study of history has value on establishing future policy, which has a powerful reference. Take political fields for example, to study its past will be helpful to the stability and security of the nation, and therefore it is no doubt to guarantee the nation's long-term purpose to be come true. In addition, we can learn lesson through history and avoid making mistakes again. President Nixon' Water Gate will be an instructive example that prevent the gerent from abusing his or her power. Another illustrating example involves the relationship between China and Japan, it is very important to avoid the past unhappy history occurring again and therefore, in order to the people's benefits of two countries, the two country history inevitably become crucial factor to establish the diplomacy policy. Therefore, the study of history plays a vital role in working out the future course.

As a matter of fact, whether now or future, the study of history will be an effective and significant job to the human society. When it comes to history, it can not only depend on history itself to study history. Only through developmental, variable, and dialectic views can the true value of history be embodied, only so, we can truly regard history as a mirror and impel the whole society to a splendid position at length.

All in all, the value of history is embodied not only the current people's daily lives but also the potential social problems in the future. No matter now or future, as the proverb said," History is a mirror." By the mirror, I believe that the people's lives in the future will be more glorious and splendid.
