No field of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study.

I basically agree with the claim, since knowledge and experience from outsiders often leads to new interdisciplines, promotes development, and puts forth new ideas to the field of study. However, we should admit that connoisseurs take great part of the study in the field.

In the first place, knowledge and experience from outsiders can often lead to new interdisciplines and promote development to the field. Nowadays, computer has greatly changed the tradition of art and made it turn to be modern. With the computer technology coming into art, many interdisciplines burgeons. For example, Computer Graphics, Computer image processing, Computer audio processing, and so forth, all of which has brought a breakthrough in design. Today, 3d games are very popular to people, which are just the products of Computer Graphics and program. And Computer image processing is great helpful on creating beautiful pictures. That has inspired people's sense of aesthetic feeling. And Computer audio processing can eliminate the bug in melody or singer's voice and let people to share more euphonious songs. Addtionally, the products produced by new technology in science, like digital camera, has also brought many masterpiece to arts. By digital camera, which is widely used among common people, every person who owns one, can take beautiful  or vagarious  images at any time and at any place. That has provide materials more widely. And today a lot of significant pictures are taken by common people.


Additionally, knowledge and experience from outsiders can put forth new ideas, induce new discoveries, and sometimes guide to the field of study. The relationship between science and philosophy can best illustrate that. Science is a tool for man to accomplish goals, and is preceeded by philosophic conclusions. Philosophy defines the concept "is" through the axiom of existence. The law of existence states that "existence exists"  or that "what is, is". Without this philosophic premise, science cannot begin to ask the question,"What is there in the universe?" The physical sciences, such as physics, can and must use mathematics as the means of inducing new discoveries.  In reality, the best science can do is illustrate an already-established philosophic premise. While mathetics itself presupposes a littany of philosophic conclusions, such as the law of existence and law of identity. The numeral "1", for example, is an abstraction representing the law of existence--that a singular thing exists as a part from the rest of the universe. Thus counting, multiplying, and all math are derived from and based upon a philosophic conclusion---the conclusion that entities exist apart from other entities---and could not exist without it. While the facts that science has discovered or new invention scientists have created often in turn inspire philosophers to think about these new things and create more new ideas.

Although outsiders are so important on the advancement of a field of study, we still should not ignore the importance of the field itself. In long history, every field has accumulated much knowledge and experience which are the foundations of advancement. Without so many exioms, it is impossible for mathematics to develop so consummate that it can work on many fields and solve various problems and promote the development of new technology to make us come into informantion age.

To sum, knowledge and experience from outsiders greatly influence the significant advancement of the study in a field. They also inspire new ideas and new tool for the field to develop. Meanwhile we should not ignore the importance of the field itself. No doubt, most part of the knowledge and experience are from the field, which has provided a firm foundation.
