TOPIC: ISSUE87 - "In any field of inquiry, the beginner is more likely than the expert to make important discoveries."

Beginners often have interests and enthusiasm to study in everything they meet. As a result, they are more likely to have the oppotunities of getting new ideas than experts whose thoughts may be confined by their experience and knowledge. Therefore, to some extent, beginners are more likely to make important discoveries. Still, we should not ignore the fact that there are many discoveries made by experts.

As a beginner, lacking of the knowledge and experience relevant to a field, he or she is often curious about everything that he or she touches often brings up new ideas and further lead to new discovery. To make discovery, one important factor is new idea. Take one period in the history of astronomy for example. About 400 years ago, most of astronomers firmly believed Aristotle's geocentric theory because it could explain many phenomena that they had met and it was suitable to traditional way in thinking. While, as a beginner, Copercicus was very questionable on this theory. With the enthusiam and doubt toward extant theory to resolve his doubt on it, he began to work hard on it. Finally, after a lot of study, he founded new theory--heliocentric theory, which turned over traditional thinking. Additionally, some surveys show that most of the scientists achieved their discoveries when they are beginners in their fields. Therefore, we may go no further to see that beginners are more likely to make discoveries.  

When it comes to experts, their knowledge and experience in a field are very necessary to find significance. With rich knowledge and experience ,expert can often avoid some normal mistakes and have more effecient avenues to solve problems. The experience of a famous scientist, Alan Turing, who is considered as the founder of computer science today, can best illustrate this point. Before inventing Turing, which is very similar to present computer, Alan Turing had the experience ofcryptology and some practical electronic knowledge. They are very helpful on his further study on the subject of symbolic logic, and greatly inspired him to study on Turing. The number of experts achieving sucess in discoveries are numerous. Not only beginners, but also experts are likely make discoveries.

On the other hand, their rich knowledge and experience sometimes have narrowed their dimension in thinking. Rich knowledge and experience often lead experts to do what should do and avoid what should not do. Having got a lot of knowledge from predecessors and got throught many experiences, the experts are often prudent when doing research. As a result, before goning about some study, they often used to eliminate some possibilities that seem impossible to happen within the knowledge and experience. That has also reduced the opportunities to make innovation. As we know, innovations often turn over previous knowledge and broaden the range of knowledge. Therefore, restriction on mind often makes experts lose opportunities to make discovery.

In conclusion, both beginners and experts are making discoveries. Beginners' curiosity often makes them hold doubt to the knowledge before they accept them. That often brings opportunies of finding discoveries to them. Although knowledge and experience of experts are very helpful when search for new discoveries, sometimes on the contrary, they also confined experts' minds. To balance, I think beginners are more likely to make significant discoveries than experts.

我觉得作为比较型的文章,特别是这篇,结尾的升华作用显得特别重要,因为你前面不可避免的就是分别列了谁谁的优点,但要得到谁更如何如何,但凭篇幅和论点似乎显得稍显单薄和没有力度。
我觉得这道题现在来看比较好的思路是discovery的必须要素上分析,没有定论,这个是我们自己写作时自己觉得怎么就怎么的。然后就这个重要的要素,讨论在每个要素上,是新手占优势还是老手,然后根据这个比较来讨论谁更能创造出新的发现。当然,我想这么论述应该布局谋篇的难度一下子就大了。
自己这么给自己一绕感觉比较型得也蛮难写的啊,唉,是哦想偏了还是想深了?:(


这篇我觉得B1和B2的结论句很不成功。
