第一句话就让我郁闷很久，找到的答案

70.Studies show that in 70 percent of traffic accidents, at least one driver involved is less than 10 miles from home when the accident occurs. This statistic indicates that drivers have a tendency to drive incautiously when they are close to home, probably because familiar surroundings give them a false sense of security. Thus, the places where people feel safest are the places where they are in fact at greatest risk of serious injury.

研究表明在70％的交通事故中，至少有一名驾驶员在事故发生时离家不到10英里。这一统计数字表明驾驶员在离家近的时候有不谨慎驾驶的倾向，可能是因为周围熟悉的环境给了他们一种错误的安全感。因此，人们感觉最安全的地方实际上是他们受严重伤害的危险性最高的地方。

似乎很有道理的样子，我是大脑短路中，只能想到：
1 survey might not from authority.  (May I say it like that?)
We are not sure the sample range, the time it lasting, the methods they statistics the data etc...
2 there might be other cause not contented in this argument.

（2）草率地认为发生这种情况是因为familiar surroundings give them a false sense of security，有可能有其他原因，比如路况不好、酒后驾车等等。

事故的原因没有说明，未必在于离家近的driver，可能是离家远的司机造成的，可能是行人，或bicycle riders等（我觉得放在调查的样本，调查者，调查时间，随机性上根本讲不出什么名堂来）
2 既便如此，没证据表明是离家近的环境更熟悉导致的错误安全感使drivers容易不慎驾驶，不一定离家近的环境就熟悉吧，可能是新家，可能经常跑其它地方工作环境更熟（我知道这有点绕，但真的，这是常识，要不然真的没什么可写拉^_^），即使熟悉未必产生错误安全感吧？common sense informs us if the accident rate will be lower if drivers are more familiar with the route and surroundings
3 草率推广了吧hasty analogy, 即使离家近的地方容易产生错误安全感，但是不意味着所以人们认为感到安全的地方就是最高风险的地方，让人们感到最安全的地方可以是家，公园，等等，难到这些地方很危险吗？荒谬（最后一句话我不知道能不能脱离drivers and traffic accidents来驳斥，请教！
如果单纯理解为drivers 感到最安全的地方其实是最容易出事故的地方，可以这样驳斥出事故有很多原因，如exceed the limited speed, over loading, drinking, 等等 反正未必是错误安全感吧？
