请问thesis和general topic的区别是什么？ HELP ME PLEASE：）

正在看一篇Thesis Development Exercise Directions.
上面说，想要development thesis，第一步是通过看书，提出thesis question，第二步是写general topic。

不知道thesis和general topic的区别是什么呢:confused:

In my opinion.

1, thesis is about the whole thing, including all you need to finish in your dissertation.

2, general topic is about the same meaning of abstract.
