Generally I agree with the assertion that education will be truly effective when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. However, there is no necessity to broaden this assertion to justify it as the only way, which seems to be overly idealistic.(开门见山)
One of the reasons why I generally agree with the assertion is that every individual has identical traits, which therefore demand identical education.(是distinctive吧) For example, some kids are more talented at language while some kids are keener to numbers. In order to provide proper education whose goal is to provide the society with versatile individuals,好 teachers should strengthen math education to those good at language and add additional verbal courses to those who are good at numbers, vice versa. This process is according to the goal of education itself. In some other situations, educators confront with more special cases. There might be children with disabilities, who need educations totally different from normal children; otherwise they gain nothing through education. There might also be genius, for whom the normal education is waste of time, thus these kids should be provided with education suitable for them, or their talent will be lost through the process of the long waste of time.(这段内容不错,不过能举个什么名人的例子就更好了。还有句子比较一般)
From several educational studies, it is shown that the more specific education a child receive, the more he / she learns, the better he / she develops. This point is easy to comprehend. Modern society has ample examples. For instance, athletes are almost always designed to be athlete in their early age, who no doubt receive different education from his contemporaries. And when they grow up, their advantages in physical body are strengthened. Another telling example should be musician. Music is often described as "children's work", which is a vivid illustration of this kind of career. A child who is interested in music must study and practice on music exclusively (relatively to other children) in order to be a musician, otherwise they cannot grow up to be a musician. It is obvious they need specifically designed education, and such education leads to effectiveness.(上段写到individual need 这段是不是可以写写interest,把这些说成是born advantage and interesting)
However, broaden the situations discussed above to embrace "each" students would be irrational.(我一直想写这个但没写成) After all, musicians and athletes are minority of the world. Most individuals who need education are ordinate and not so identical from each other. It is unnecessary to design education exclusively for each of them, or it will cause a numerous waste of educational resource, which is totally ineffective. After all, there are so many children in the world even don't have opportunities to get educated. Even those special children, such as musician and athletes are gathered and educated together in order to save the resource.(这段感觉有点罗嗦)
Given there is enough resource to provide the kids with specifically designed courses, on the other hand it counterproductively eliminates the function of competition.(这个思想很好啊,也可以说没有统一标准评价等等) If every child is educated specifically, it will be hard to evaluate how effective each kid study. And it is also hard to tell the A students, who should go to colleges and universities, from otherwise. Competition is need, even should be strengthened.
Thus, in conclusion, my position is that, I agree that some children should be provided with specifically designed courses to get well developed while some should be not, because specifically education is limited resource, abuse which would be wasty, and the competition function should be protected and strengthened.
(student, keener, math, lost, receive, contemporary, physical, describe, numerous, counterproductively)
总体感觉不错
但是再句子和一些例子方面要加强 |
