Issue132 The university community consists of three different worlds—the sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences. Because each world operates on its own assumptions and has its own special habits of thinking, rarely is there meaningful interaction among the sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences.

提纲:
1. 从物理中看哲学;
2. Humanities 里的东西影响别的学科
3. the sciences and the social sciences
4. 交叉学科
Disciplines in the university are actually categorized into three separate parts, say, the sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences. People majored in each fields may distinguish themselves with the other two since it is generally considered that the three have distinct style of thinking and are grounded on their own basic assumptions. However, with significant social advances and the emergence of interdisciplines, ever-increasing meaningful interaction are becoming a tendency in our intellectual studies and the society as a whole.
To begin with, see how physics, which studies the physical matters and their laws of motion, shares some inherent disciplines that philosophy relies on, which I found so interesting when I begin with physics in high school. One of Newton's law, that an item pressing or drawing another is at the same time pressed or drawn by the same amount of force applies to our life or emotions. When you are kind to some one , you will be treated back the same way, and vice versa. A typical law in physics shows that things are inclined to be at a state of the lowest energy. In my view, every thing is. Not strangely, We are inclined to sit on sofa rather than stand. And with further scientific advances, the investigation in the microscopic world generates such new meaningful discoveries, say, quantum theory, that we should lend necessary consideration to the philosophy and the quo status of the society. "God does not play dice with the world", said Einstein. But the motion of atoms or electrons indicates that God does, which is rather different from the traditional theory that we can strictly determine things by measuring or deduction. This breakthrough, from my point of view, have brought some philosophical issues into consideration--Does God play dice with us? Famous physicist Heisenburg ever wrote a book "philosophy and physics" outlining his philosophical conclusions during his pursuit of quantum theory.
For the second place, something involved in humanities, like the so-called spirit, could play its role in other fields. It is widely acknowledged that China boasts its long history of Wushu art. But good learning of Wushu, according to notable predecessors, should cultivate proper attitudes and the spirit of perseverance at first, or you can never gain the essence or gist of it. So does the study of general subjects like the sciences and the social sciences.
The meaningful interaction between the sciences and the social sciences are even more apparent and significant. With ever-increasing advances, math or statistics are applying to almost every branch of intellectual studies, even in some arts subjects like economics. On the other hand, the methodology and research approaches of sociology contribute increasingly to scientific research.
Moreover, interdisciplines like environmental science and material science can not specifically categorized into any single part of the three. Take environmental science for example. In the research of this domain, factors from almost all the fields should be involved such as ecology, biochemistry, economics and ethics. They are combined into an effective integration. In this matter, only dealing with the interaction of all the fields can we gain a balance in tackling the problem.
In fact, intellectual studies as a whole are universally existing while the classification is just made by humans. In ancient times when knowledge originates from, there are no categories or divided fields. In the present and the future, there is a growing tendency that all the disciplines would merge into one stream by interplaying with each other to gain splendid improvement.
觉得思路即文章的构架有点乱, 而且后面几个观点没法展开 诚请指点和交流
