thanks~我的确是想做faculty~不然就不费这么多事再申请了～stanford是做bussiness的好地方吗？在我印象里觉得那里是牛人聚集，学术水平极高的地方。谢谢大家阿～

这位高人，为什么说绝对stanford啊～
其实～～唉也算一点打听到的消息吧。stanford的ee有50多个教授可以招人（除去退休的名誉的），每年招200多个人，真是僧多粥少。即使是fellow也一般只有一年。TA几乎不可能。为了找到RA,大家拼命干活。ee在stanford各个系中也是臭名昭著的辛苦，PhD qualify每年通过率只有70%不到。很怕怕，是不是去了会饿死。
～～umich我也去看过了，ann arbor城市还好，比一般的大学城好多了，但是实在是冷的不一般，3月底了还下雪。umich的bme一年招40多人，20多个fellow，给钱也还算慷慨。呵呵学校可能还好，不过他们的办公室比较agly不爽一点～
呵呵谢谢大家的建议啦，也祝愿大家收到满意的offer.

感觉stanford发了不少ad,个人认为umich的bme更有前途,除了ann arbor气候差了点其他都还不错,顶Umich!

still a long way to go.....

stanford能比umich在工科上强多少？不要考虑了，去umich，我想去他还不要我。

Sorry, but I do not have any RAships for new students. But I do urge you to
come to Stanford. The other programs are simply not in the same category.
Once you get here, there are plenty opportunities to help you with your
funding issues.

that is so true.

once u get here, there will be much more opportunities to fund urself. sometimes they even offer RA to master students, which is quite hard to imagine before the student is admitted.

btw, UMich is not a bad choice either. So the problem now is whether ur family could afford the exorbitantly expensive tuitions in stanford. if u could, don't hesitate to come.
