A small offer from U of Maryland,
The stipend for the 2006-2007 academic year (12 months) is $18,186. Stipends are paid on a biweekly basis over the academic year and are taxable.  As a fringe benefit, the assistantship provides up to ten credits of tuition remission per academic semester and four credits over the summer.  In addition, as a research assistant, you are eligible for employee health insurance.  The assistantship does not, however, cover the cost of mandatory fees.
I am not sure whether the stipend includes a full tuition waiver. So I wrote to the director of the graduate program. And he replied as follows:
Your tuition will be fully covered. This is the same stipend we are giving to every student this year; it is above the standard level for graduate students in most departments on our campus and is higher than the level at most other schools.
it has been a small challenge to get you into the program with full financial asistance. I have many high hopes and dreams about you and I want you to consider me as your friend. I will always be there for you. Please give your very bestto your studies and everything else when you come here.
