场景：Carol moved her stuff out that day.因此Ross非常的沮丧。这里的对Ross精神状况的描写，原剧本用的是mortified。
　　motified是motify的一种变形，而motify的意思是“使感屈辱，使失面子，使羞愧”大家可以想象，Ross得知他的妻子Carol是一个Lesbian，而且在那天从他们房子里把所有东西都搬出来时，Ross的心情是如何的了。
　　
　 Phoebe: Ooh! Oh! (She starts to pluck at the air just in front of Ross.)　　pluck：采，摘，拔，扯，拉。
　　Pheobe总是古里古怪的样子。她伸出手在Ross的前面对着空气乱抓一通。于是Ross说：No, no don‘t! Stop cleansing my aura! No, just leave my aura alone, okay?
　　Phoebe: Fine! Be murky!　　murky:adj. 黯淡的，阴沉的，笼罩的，朦胧的，浓密的，有浓雾的，不易懂的，隐晦的，含糊的。
　　这里Phoebe用的应该是暗喻。从表面上看，好像是说“好吧，继续阴沉下去吧”，实际意思是，“好吧，继续痛苦吧”
　　
　　Ross: No!! Okay?! Why does everyone keep fixating on that? She didn‘t know, how should I know?　　fixate on: 集中于，注意于
　　翻译：不知道！！好了吧？为什么每个人总在说这件事情？她都不知道（自己是Lesbian），我何从知道？
　　
　　Ross: I told mom and dad last night, they seemed to take it pretty well.
　　Monica: Oh really, so that hysterical phone call I got from a woman at sobbing 3:00 A.M., "I‘ll never have grandchildren, I‘ll never have grandchildren." was what? A wrong number?　　Ross还想欺骗大家，说他把事情告诉老爸老妈了，他们已经从容接受这件事情（take it pretty well）
　　然而Monica揭穿了他的谎言：啊？真的吗？那么今天凌晨3点我接到一个哭泣的女人（woman at sobbing）歇斯底里地说“我再也不会有孙子了，我再也不会有孙子了”是什么？一个打错的电话？
　　
　　Joey: Strip joint! C‘mon, you‘re single! Have some hormones!　　Joey总是一副很可爱的样子，由于受的教育比较少，他的话总是傻里傻气的。为了安慰Ross，他建议Ross去Strip joint
　　Strip:v.剥去，剥光，脱去衣服，表演脱衣舞；n.脱衣舞，条，带
　　joint:n.关节，接合处，接头；adj.连接的，接合的，共同的，联合的。
　　从strip这个单词，不难知道Joey在说什么。可是加上了joint，我怎么也不能把这两个单词的意思联系起来。有些译本干脆就翻译为“脱衣舞场”了。如果在座的有知道，麻烦解释一下
　　hormone:荷尔蒙。最后一句话直译为“有一点男性荷尔蒙吧”，意译则是指Ross该去脱衣舞场找乐子了（释放男性荷尔蒙，嘻嘻）
　　
　　当Ross表示，只是想再次结婚，这时Rachel穿着湿漉漉的wedding dress进来了。
　　Monica让waiter给Rachel来一杯De-cafe，低咖啡因的咖啡，或者说低浓度的咖啡。然后向大家介绍Rachel:another Lincoln High survivor
　　这里用的survivor应该暗示出来了，林肯高中是一个学习压力很大的地方，能survive太不容易啦。呵呵
　　
　　Monica: So you wanna tell us now, or are we waiting for four wet bridesmaids?
　　Monica让Rachel解释一下原因，“or are we waiting for four wet bridesmaids”直接翻译为“或者，我们在等四个湿漉漉的伴娘？”美国人的幽默可见一斑
　　
　　Rachel的回答太长，我挑几句说就可以了
　　I was in the room where we were keeping all the presents, and I was looking at this gravy boat. This really gorgeous Lamauge gravy boat.　　gravy boat:盛调味汁的船形器皿。gravy:肉汁，（做调味用的）卤
　　Lamauge gravy boat又是什么呢？我查找了一下，有人回答说Lamauge可能是一种牌子
　　gorgeous：美国的女孩子比较喜欢用gorgeous来形容她喜欢的，或者感到惊讶的东西。而男孩则用这个词来形容遇到的漂亮性感的女性（这个来源于某个英语学习原地）

　　freak out,这个词组很重要，使用的频率很高。表示“吓了一跳”

      原则上，应该是Chandler and I，但是口语中没有这么严格的束缚，不单是语序可以改变，I也可以说成me。这里Joey为了突显自己，把me提前了。而且带有挑逗性地说，Chandler总是不在……
　　Monica: Joey, stop hitting on her! It‘s her wedding day!　　翻译：Joey,不要再挑逗她了！今天是她的结婚日子！
　　hit on sb: “和某人调情，或挑逗某人”, 相当于flirt with sb, 其它类似的表达法还有：to make a

     我们都知道diary是“日记”的意思。那么记入日记的，一般都是当天比较值得记的东东吧。而Monica单身了这么久，终于有人约她出去了，所以Chandler说“这是一个值得载入日记的时刻”
　　
　　这下，除了Rach之外，大家都有事情做了。于是Ross问Rach，她今晚有什么安排
　　Rachel: Well, I was kinda supposed to be headed for Aruba on my honeymoon, so nothing!
　　Ross: Right, you‘re not even getting your honeymoon, God.. No, no, although, Aruba, this time of year... talk about your- (thinks) -big lizards... Anyway, if you don‘t feel like being alone tonight, Joey and Chandler are coming over to help me put together my new furniture.

Yea, I have applied for several universities which are all outside America and dispersed in commonwealth nations this round, however, I intend to pursue a further degree in the States next session in need of different experiece which is conducive to my professional study.

开始解释题目的含义：
　　sonogram: An image, as of an unborn fetus or an internal body organ, produced by ultrasonography.
　　超声波扫描图由超声波扫描所产生的未出生的胎儿或某一体内器官的图像.
　　虽然能大体知道这一集要讲什么，可是，弄不明白的一点，这里end代表什么呢？有人能够给我解答一下吗？
　　
【场景】：Central Perk，大家在讨论kiss
　　Monica: What you guys don‘t understand is, for us, kissing is as important as any part of it.
　　翻译：你们男人都不明白的是，对于我们（女人）来说，接吻的每个步骤都很重要。
　　不知道这么翻译对不对，这里的it是代指kissing吗？any part of it，接吻的每一步骤？
　　
　　Rachel: Everything you need to know is in that first kiss.
　　起初不太明白为什么这里用的介词in（大家不要怪我咬文嚼字，既然是详细地记日记，我当然每个单词都要推敲了），难道是在kiss的过程中，一方的lips进入另一方的？（笑）后来想想，可能是in that first kiss thing之类的省略吧
　　
　　Chandler: Yeah, I think for us, kissing is pretty much like an opening act, y‘know? I mean it‘s like the stand-up comedian you have to sit through before Pink Floyd comes out.
　　opening act：开场、序幕。act有“戏剧的幕”的意思
　　sit through：一直挺到结束，耐着性子看完（或听完）
　　Pink Floyd：是当今最负盛名的“迷幻摇滚乐队”
　　翻译：是的，我认为对我们来说，接吻更像是开场，明白吗？我的意思是，就好比在Pink Floyd的出场前，你得耐着性子看完站立着的喜剧演员（的表演）。
　　Chandler的比喻大家看明白了吗？就是说对于男性来说，接吻只是一个开头，他们更在乎的是直接进入“主题”，得到更精彩的部分。网上有些翻译为“就像佛洛伊飞船出场前，你得耐著性子先看完脱口秀”，根据后来看的剧本，我觉得这样没有把Chandler真正想提到的大家都喜欢的乐队翻译出来，而且后来Rachel的台词中有"album"，所以我觉得还是自己的翻译好一些

【场景】Rachel和Ross在客厅聊天，讨论把戒指还给Barry的事情
　　Rachel: Oh, you‘ve got Carol tomorrow.. When did it get so complicated?
　　Ross: Got me.
　　Ross的意思是“难倒我了”
　　
　　Ross: Well, you may wanna steer clear of the word ‘dumped‘. Chances are he‘s gonna be this, this broken shell of a man, y‘know, so you should try not to look too terrific, I know it‘ll be hard. Or, y‘know, uh, hey!, I‘ll go down there, and I‘ll give Barry back his ring, and you can go with Carol and Susan to the OB/GYN...
　　上次讲到steer clear of是“避开, 绕开，解脱”的意思
　　而这里，Ross这么用的言外之意是让Rachel好好驾驭这个词
　　may wanna = may want to，这里的may表示请求，规劝；是对另一方委婉地提出建议
　　Ross暗示Rach不要随便乱用“dumped”，因为他作为一个男人自尊可能会受伤害(break the shell of a man)
　　terrific的本意是“令人恐慌的，糟糕的”，放在这里则有点让人迷糊了，难道Ross的意思应该是说“你不应该打扮的太光彩照人”，否则Barry看到了会更难受。可是直接翻译过来则是“你应该试着打扮得不要让人看起来很糟糕”。

　　A but B + 动词（do,be）：表示除了B之外，A的行为或状态，动词形式是就近原则。
　　比如：The whole class but Jimmy was late.除了Jimmy，其他人都迟到了。

　　How did it go：事情进展的怎样了？
　　类似的表达方法有How things going?
　　如果一段时间没见过某人，在打招呼的时候也可以这么说，或者说:
　　How is your life?
　　What are you up to?
　　How is you doing？
　　回答，如果是一般或好的方面，可以有以下这些说法：
　　Not bad/Just so-so/Good/Great/Wonderful! (程度逐渐递增)
　　Still alive and kicking.（我觉得这个说法很好，很生动）
　　如果是坏的方面，可以说

　　关于这句话的，我也不太明白。于是google了一下。发现有人这么解释：
　　gloves come on是从一句俗语来的,其实就相当于hurt somebody。我估计是从拳击那边引过来的，as in boxing gloves。
　　本来rachel是站在phoebe一条战线上的（she thinks phoebe‘s chewing hair is endearing。endearing,可爱），没想到pheobe“恩将仇报”的讽刺了她一回，Rachel觉得被出卖了，所以说phoebe has the gloves on.
　　说有时候你还会听到类似的说法：“not lay a glove (fingure or hand) on”， which means leave unhurt.
