------题目------
The following recommendation was made by the Human Resources Manager to the board of directors of the Fancy Toy Company.
'In the last three quarters of this year, under the leadership of our president, Pat Salvo, our profits have fallen considerably. Thus, we should ask for her resignation in return for a generous severance package. In Pat's place, we should appoint Rosa Winnings. Rosa is currently president of Starlight Jewelry, a company whose profits have increased dramatically over the past several years. Although we will have to pay Rosa twice the salary that Pat has been receiving, it will be well worth it because we can soon expect our profits to increase considerably.'

The Human Resources Manager recommends that they should appoint Rosa Winnings their president instead of Pat Salvo, in order to increase the profits of Fancy Toy Company considerably. To support this conclusion, the manager contrasts the declination of Fancy Toy and the dramatically increasing profits of Starlight Jewelry. Though his recommendation sounds rather persuasive, it is not convincing enough for the board of directors to adopt after careful analysis.
First of all, it is not reasonable enough to ask for Pat's resignation just because of the declination in last three quarters of this year. At least, a period of time of three quarters is too short too evaluate a president, for the president does not have enough time to carry out her own policies and plans. The declination of profits may result from old managing policies and outdated products, rather than the leadership of Pat. New schemes may be carried out currently, and may lead to high profits in the following years. As a result, it is unverified to attribute the declination to the president Pat.
Besides, even if Pat did induce the declination of Fancy Toy, it is unsubstantiated to claim that Rosa can bring considerable profits. Though Starlight Jewelry achieved high profits in the past several years under the leadership of Rosa, it is necessary to examine Rosa's contribution, since the increase of profits is affected by many factors. Even if Rosa has performed well and contributed greatly to Starlight Jewelry, whether she can revise the current situation of Fancy Toy stills remains a question. The management and products of Fancy Toy and Starlight Jewelry may be rather different from each other. The broad of editors of Fancy Toy may dislike Rosa's policies. Rosa's managing schemes may become less profitable in the following years. Therefore, it is unwise to pay Rosa twice the salary that Pat has been receiving only because of the high profits of current Starlight Jewelry.
In conclusion, the recommendation made by the Human Resources Manager is not reasonable enough for the board of directors to accept, because it is unverified to attribute the declination of Fancy Toy simply to the leadership of Pat Salvo, and the ability to revise the current situation of Fancy Toy of Rosa Winnings should be carefully evaluated.
