V: Good morning, sir.
M: Good morning. How are you?
V: (no response)
So, you’ve been here for one year.
M: yes, more than one year.
V: what are you doing now?
M: I’m not working now. I keep looking for a professional job in the past year, but I can’t find it. So, this year I applied 4 universities in the USA and 2 universities in Canada. 3 of 4 American universities give me offers, and the other one gives me admission. However, 1 of 2 Canadian universities rejected me. It’s xxx University. And I haven’t received any news about my application from the other one. It’s xxx university. Would you like to see my other offer/admission/rejection letters?
V:yes. (I showed letters to him)
You have excellent background and working experience, and received so many offers from American universities. Xxx university (我要去的学校) is very famous also. Why these two Canadian universities didn’t give you offers?
M:I don’t know. They always have their reasons.
V: Visa applicants must prove that they will go somewhere other than the USA after graduation. You’ve been in Canada for only a short time. So, you’ll go back to China after graduation?
M: No, I will come back to Canada.
V: Why?
M: there are 3 reasons why I will return to Canada.
First, I like this country. This is the reason why I immigrated to Canada.
Secondly, my wife and my daughter will keep staying here when I pursue my PhD in the USA. My wife has a good job in xxx Group (a famous bank in Canada).
V: please show me the documents.
I showed the copies of my wife’s and my daughter’s permanent resident cards and passports, my wife’s employment certificate, and the introduction of the bank.
Wait. Consular officer read the documents carefully.
M: Thirdly, Canada has good xxx engineering industry. Like xxx company, it is very famous for its xxx engineering worldwide.
V: I know this company is very famous. You can work here first.
M: I need a PhD education to push up my career. Without a degree from North America, it’s not easy to find a professional job here in Canada. However, with a PhD from a famous American university, it will be quite different.
V: I see. Please have a seat and wait a few minutes.
M: No problem.
A few minutes later, consular officer let me go to window 1.
V: I have good news and bad news to tell you.
M: What are they?
M: good news is that I’m convinced by you. I decide to issue you the visa. Bad news is that because you will study xxx engineering. We’ll check you. You will be checked anywhere you apply the visa in the embassy of the USA in the world if you stud yxxx engineering.
1、 clear后使馆通知,然后拿护照来取签证;
