Issue-88:"Technologies not only influence but actually determine social customs and ethics.”

提纲：
第一：亮出观点——科技能够决定社会风俗；但是不能决定社会道德准则。
第二：证明科技可以决定社会风俗习惯。所用例子：电子书的发明使得人们可以更方便的阅读和工作——从而改变了人们的学习和生活方式；网络的出现改变了人类社会信息交换的速度并且使得远程会议成为可能——导致办公方式的巨大改变；手机的出现改变了人们传统的通信联系方式；交通工具的现代化改变了人们的出行提供了更多的选择。
第三：证明科技不能决定社会道德准则。用克隆人不被国际社会大多数成员所接受作为例子进行证明。
第四：对全文做出总结，说明科技能够决定社会风俗；但是不能决定社会道德准则。

正文：
I partly agree with the speaker’s opinion. The science technology can determine the social customs, but it can not determine the social ethics. Technology really played an important role during the period of society’s formation. And after the formation, an improving technology will continue having a great influence on the society. However, as for the big difference between the social customs and the social ethics, there will be different results of the influence between them. The difference is that it is more difficult to change social ethics than to change social customs.

As to the social customs, the influence will become determination at last. A new technology will cause/bring/create/arouse a new influence on the society, as the time goes by, the influence will be big enough, and at last, it will change into the determination. The invention of electronic books is a mighty example. Before the invention, people can get information by reading books, which are too heavy for many people to carry. In order to conquer the books’ fault of not portable, scientists invented the electronic books. Since the electronic books were invented, they have greatly changed many people’s way of reading and learning, which are the part of the social customs. The volume of just one electronic book is much larger than that of one real book. So, it is very convenience to use electronic books. Now people can take one electronic book, and just one, to read and work, needn’t to worry about the big heavy of real books. That is to say, parts of the social customs have been changed. Another good example is about the internet. The appearance of internet has given a rather big impact on the whole society. And many things have greatly changed ever since. The most important influence of the internet is that it has greatly increased the speed of information transmission. The information includes voice, images, words and so on. People can get the newest information from the internet. We can get the World Cup’s result from the internet just after the end of the football game which is played in the opposite place/site of the earth. The turn up of the internet makes the meeting on the internet possible. Many transnational companies/corporations hold their board meeting on the internet, which can save those managers a lot of precious time. So, we can see that the internet has greatly changed people’s way of living and working, which are the most important part of the social customs. The third example is related to the mobile phone. Now people can communicate with each other much easier and faster than ever by mobile phone. In the modern society, it seems that the mobile phone has become a necessity. We needn’t write the letter now. And we can share our joys and sorrows with our best friends more quickly by mobile phone. We don’t have to wait for the mail letters for days, weeks, sometimes even months. The mobile phone has utterly changed people’s way of communication, which is also a part of the social customs. The last example is on the traffic. Before the industrial revolution, if people want to go somewhere, they can only walk to there by foot or be carried to there by some kind of animals. Both of the two ways are very slow. After the technology revolutions, people can go further and faster by many kinds of traffics. We can choose to take ships, airplanes, trains, buses and so on. People will form a preference if they take one kind of traffic for many times, and this becomes the social customs finally. We can feel that the technology really can determine the social customs.

However, the influence on the social ethics will not change finally. Because it is really hard to change the social ethics, and sometimes the social ethics can not be changed at all. Take the clone technology as an example. The technology has been invented for many years, and some scientists also said that the clone technology could be used to cure some kind of disease, but almost all the members of the international society has said that they opposed the clone-man technology(said no to the clone-man technology), because it is in conflict with the social ethics. It is a good example to verify that scientific technologies are weak sometimes. It can not determine the social ethics.

In sum, the scientific technologies are not omnipotent, it can determine social customs, but it can not determine the social ethics. Sometimes it has to follow the social ethics. When the social ethics is unchangeable, the technology’s influence can not become the determination.

自己感想：觉得自己废话太多了，就是第二段，可能是因为举了4个例子的缘故。而且一直觉得自己的论证不够准确，论证的力度和深度也很不够。这个好像要长期积累才行的！汗！写完了没什么感觉——唯一的感觉就是时间太长阿——狂汗！

我第一写GRE作文，觉得就算拿中文写，我也不会写得比这好多少，GRE单词没有怎么用，还有提升空间，希望路过的朋友帮忙拿砖拍我。拍死了算了！！！

The statement of speaker declares that technologies have influence enough to determine social customes and ethics.Granted,that the powerful impetus from contemportary technologies have been put in every pole of society or lives in the present,the
change more or less in the behavior is on account of a new technologies.But it it
widely held belief that technologies can never determine social ethics,only to social
customes.

Compared to primitive condition before, admittedly the world has token an
enomorously update due to the use of technologies where accountless scientists
were devoted to.At the same time, the quatilies or standard of our live also meet a
well-developed era while the social customs are being influented by the technologies as well.Mobile phone makes a good example to this, in the past we only communicated with each other throught the way of face-to=face, but now in any place
where there will be  proposbly desert or on sea and ever in air, the mobile phone
will estabalish a communicatial bridge with every one conveniently,and only the full energy battary is in need.However,not only  s the means of technologies'influence not
limited by offering some useful or multifunction instrucment to change social
customs, not so much beacause of the perferation of a chose to human beings ,but beacause of more sutiable to the pattern of society's step , but renew or creat a
social custom such as World wide web. it naturally becomes a part of our live after
found in daily work or study.

When it comes to social ethics,which is considered as a profound concept in long history of man,technologies would not determine what the social ethics stand for ,and even have not any affection on it.To say fairly, the result of human beings'
evolvement leads colorful culture all around the world,and social ethics,The latter one is a root to every nation,which is with regard to undergroud law volved in
differents aspects.For instance,clone technology can not use in reproducing human being no matter what reasons are, mostly beacause this is immoral behavior,
out of ethics.An additional to this case,so far transplantion technology exist in
medicine field, For all patients, We can not transplant any organs from person alive
to a patient who is much richer.Socail ethics have to restrict the usilites of technologies.

In sum,throught what have been discussed above,we could draw a conclusine safely that even throught technologies play a a key in the society that not means it can
determine ethics,only bear an responsibilites for an change.

另外，我发现gre作文是有套路的，写熟了，时间也就会缩短的！！！
