TOPIC: ISSUE144 - "It is the artist, not the critic,* who gives society something of lasting value."

The artists discover or create the beauty for the world. However, that the critic praise or criticize the work of the artist will help us to realize the work further more. In other words, in my point of view, I disagree with the author.

To begin with, there are a great many works produced by artists which ornament and beautify our world. Artists, such as poet, director, musician and painter, apply artistic methods to represent their dreams and passion to life. The symphonies produced by Beethoven, one of the celebrated pianists in the world, reflect the movements of the people and the most advanced thoughts during that time, and therefore become greatness. Not only a large number of people encouraged by his works, but also through his creation we can know much about the renovation in the musical history. Similarly, director Steven Spielberg successfully has directing many praiseworthy films such as Schindler's List, Jurassc Park, which won him many award in Oscar. His work Schindler's List reflecting the life of Jews in German during the world war two, profoundly, moved all audiences.   

Since it is impossible that the audience can select all splendid ones from numerous works, considering the remarks of critics are a simple and effective method which was a supplement of the artists’ works as well. Sometimes because the gap about the distinct time and regions exists, people live cannot comprehend the initial aims of the works. For example, the film One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest represents that a funny man sent into madhouse from prison bring the patients much enjoyment and encourage them to live everyday pleasurably. After a fight resulting from illegal get-together, this man becomes an idiot due to the removal of his bad brain, hence his friend make him died at the end of movie. People are inclined to feel confused with the aim of author and the consequence greatly. However, the critic explain that this film reflect the thirst for freedom under the serious restrained system during that repressive time. With these helpful remarks, we can approach meanings of the work.

Admittedly, sometimes the irresponsible remarks of the critics will affect the creative process of artists and beat our enthusiasm of enjoying artists’ works. Because attitudes towards one thing vary from person to person, this misunderstanding happens due to multifactor reasons. Van Gogh suffered severe criticism of the critics committed suicide in despairing, while now his works were proved to possess high art value.

As contributions to human society, artists and critics are parts of inheritors and transfer persons of the culture to some extent. Without artists, we cannot acquire those feasts from seeing, hearing and the heart. Without critics, we cannot gain whole comprehension of the works of artists. The productions of artist result in immediate enjoyment while those of critic were indirect. Both of them are worthy us to consider carefully.

In sum, the artists discover or create beauty which ornaments our world while critics help us to enjoy them better even though sometimes wrong comprehension will result in some side-effects. Both of them contribute to the culture’s transfer and inheriting, but in different ways.

那么，第二段些artist的作用，自然也就不是文章的重点，没有必要写这么多。其中举了两个例子，个人认为举一个就可以了，然后稍微再用一句总结一下。
然后，写到后面，文章的观点实际上变成了二者同样重要。
因此，建议写文章开头的观点除了表明disagree外，还是把自己的观点说下。因为你的观点毕竟不是题目观点的反面。
